It’s been a while now, more than two weeks, that
shift-right-click to open cargohold of a ship to a separate window, autocloses the new window.
The feature has been altered, it doesn’t work as it used to,
it forces you to open the main STORAGE icon - and go one by one untill you don’t find the ship you need to interact with its cargo content:
EXample one: yoo just came back from a mission, dock, you want to open the cargohold of your ship but it fails to do so. It now takes you one-two minutes to sift through all the hulls to find yours and transfer the mission loot to a new place.
Example two: You forgot where you left an MTU in a sjip. You want to quickly open and see which one is the ship with the MTU in the cargohold. Shift-righ-click don’t work.
Nothing opens anymore in a new window, the workflow is significantly deteriorated.
Fixes:
I’m no programmer but something has been changed and the feature is now broken.
Plz fix it.
Don’t know about that shift thing, but if docked i just doubleclick on my ship in the center of the screen and the cargo opens.
Also i have my inventory set to “always show the full tree” and the ship is clearly selected then. If i then go in the tree and hover over another ship and right-click and hold shift while executing “Open Cargohold” it perfectly opens in another window.
It didn’t even knew this was possible…just left clicking through the ships in the ship tree is much faster and you don’t need no keyboard at all… click-> cargo1, click->cargo2, click->cargo3 and also you can directly drag and drop the stuff around from and to the cargos.
If you need to access specialized holds however, you have to expand the tree…but also everything only with left-clicks and totally without keyboard and extra windows needed.
I truly hope you didn’t play for 6 years without having the full tree shown in your hangar window. It is a shame that this change was introduced by FC. “Always show full tree” should be the selected default for every new player.
And if you would select “always open in separate window”, you could even just double-click in the ship tree to open the cargo of that ship directly in a new window.
This is also the first time for me to hear that shift+right click opens cargo in a new window. I play on a Macbook Pro without a mouse, so I always open cargohold by double clicking on the active hull, or just by right click → open cargohold.
It’s what I’ve always done.
It’s not working.
I should try free the cache, but that means a full day will go away to repair all broken links do empty the cache does.
Unless you know a bash script that do it only for Eve cache and do not affect the rest of my machine. I’m not doing it for all the OS.
I Shift+click like I 've always done, and the window open and closes immediately.
Okay, I tried it again and it works if you use shift + double click.
