My love for Carriers helped me stay in this game, originally, to train the skill to use one, this was back in the day when normal drones could be used in a carrier. The thought of taking 20 normal drones into a ratting site or having them as mining drones… I could grind isk whilst being in my favourite ships.
The carrier updates have been sublime and I do like the changes, however, I see the new T2 Strategic carriers potentially filling a roll in mining fleets. Boost, booshs, support fighters, it has all the working for a fun belt mechanic. I do not believe carriers can go back to using standard drones, however I think its ready to have a mining support fighters. May not be overtly efficient, it may be a wild concept, but its has some of the origin mechanics with the wild new flair of eve!
It would also be funny for a fax to drop and support a mining fleet and get to mine as well with a squadron of mining fighters! Wild thoughts indeed.
Thought I would put this here as a suggestion as I get heavily back into this game!
