My favorite thing is accidentally accepting a standings-loss mission in an insomnia fueled delirium and losing a whole epic arc completions worth of standings because of it. Standings losses from a handful of ship kills should not be this severe, it’s absolutely ridiculous. Make standings matter, fine, but nearly three months of work wiped out because of one misclick? I can’t even fix this for another three months! It’s absolutely asinine and should have been changed ages ago.
So @Nascent3ch0 dont accept storylines or missions against other empires that simple. If you want, come to the USIA and we can fix your standings quicker than 3 months
It was a standard mission, not a storymode one, again you’re not telling me anything I don’t already know.
You do essentially have to do it or you just take another faction wide standings hit with a different faction.
As far as I’m aware a mission timeout is the same exact standings hit as a failed mission.
This is not meaningful game play. Another mission with the same rats doesn’t incur such a severe standing hit. It’s entirely arbitrary and it shouldn’t be this way or this punishing. No single standard mission should be worth nearly a full point of standings that’s absurd.
I’ll never understand people who reply just to be jerks, especially those who have made a career of it like you. Obviously it’s a me problem, but the system working the way it does isn’t. It’s not meaningful and too punishing. I stand by my comment that no single mission should be worth nearly a point in faction standings, especially when the rules for that are entirely arbitrary. If you think it’s good design as is good for you, but you obviously don’t have anything else to add to this discussion having said your piece.
At the very least I appreciate the honesty but why should the game change its ways that would affect other people’s gameplay and goals (the difficulty and/or easiness of certain goals doesn’t only make it a goal for some, for others it’s a form if income/service) JUST because you weren’t paying attention and you don’t like the consequences of your own choices and action?
People will always be on the eve forums to ridicule or argue.
When I decide they never argue in good faith, I hide their content.
Now I always enjoy my time on the forums.

I’m glad my insomnia isn’t as severe as yours.
But then, knowing that you have severe delerium-fueled insomnia, you shouldn’t have logged into a game that demands your full attention.
