Yea it would be interesting to see these things play out in game and see what comes of it.
This is pretty a good, if cynical, bittervet takedown of the changes. (a bit melodramatic).
tl;dr
Mechanics changes are irrelevant unless you keep non FW players (Null Bloc and Pirates specifically) out of plexes , Camping with Supers, and gaming the advantage system (for market purposes and general Nullbloc Dickery)
end tl;dr
If Nullblocs see Advantage in putting their fingers on the scale, they will. And ruin it for everyone, no better example is the Fall of Niarja which arguably could have been saved if not for the Goons and others deciding they wanted to screw with HS. (but hey, sandbox amirite) Also, if thereâs money to be made then they will, so once again Keep Non-FW players out of the picture or they will own the sandbox and kick sand in everyoneâs faces.
Corollary: Big Blu NullSec Donut is the problem for HS/LS.
Screwed up Moneymaking (ESS system) is the Nullsec problem. Fix Nullsec and they will be less likely to meddle ROFL) At least thatâs my takeaway from his comments, in any event I would REALLY be interested to hear CCP comment on his points.
Note that his pearl clutching aside, Iâm enjoying FW with my corp and we will roll with the changes (and complain mightily). I do think Nullblocs and rich old pirates spoil the FW sauce but they aint going away. It seems there is more to CCPâs plans than we know (Re Lore and Narrative arc stuff) and there may be bits which may negate some of his concerns.
LOL scenario, the Empires and Concord forbid Nullbloc warships from entering Empire HS/LS. Only Haulers Shuttles and Pods⊠That would be a gas (and to be clear would NEVER happen)
That video is very Doomer though if heâs been burned before (I donât know his history) I guess thats why he feels as strongly as he does. I watched the whole thing which is why Iâm saying that.

If your trade is relied on Jita, you shouldnât move your entire corp. Maybe make a holdings corp and let that corp frieght what you need to Jita (though Iâm a strong supporter of trying to support the major trade hub of the faction you choose) Imo, you can make alot of money that way.

If your focused on industry, you need to get a better lay of the land there are certain areaâs that already have concentrated industry that helps each respective faction. If your smaller, then maybe its better to try and support that group until you can get a structure together (with that groups permission) if your a bit larger, then maybe you should find some space that isnât being fought too much over and focus on that space. Find where other factions are in the respective faction you want to join. If you join frontline systems in combat, focus on the NVY oriented sites, those will help you learn I feel like.

Larger Null Corps and other Corps will most likely bring more pilots to fight at frontline areaâs for content. If you and your group want to stay away, then make sure you find systems that havenât traditionally been flipped before. Use Changes Last 14 Days - Faction Warfare - DOTLAN :: EveMaps. I run fleets that donât always align with what the miltia wants, and (so far) I havenât been yelled at, however the core miltia have objectives that they complete.

Your asking something without knowing the people you would be allying too. You should see for yourself the situation the corps are in and see if they need an (alliance) or even finding other corps like you all that you have been flying with together (say in the future your corp focuses an area and other corps focuses that same area) that may be the time to talk about an alliance. Or another corp leaves an area due to there systems being taken by the other faciton, you allow they to seek asylum in your newly developed area.
His videoâŠis alot of anger with no solutions. His worry about null blocks camping gates is fair, along with null blocks fighting to abuse the advantage system, but there are big low sec entities that just pirate and can fight these null blocks. This brings opportunity for them to fight eachother while faction warfare folks do there thing. Goons might be bigger than snuff, but all of goons wonât be in one system. They will be spread apart in mutliple, while Snuff is usually in one area for example. It will actually be a bit more even (maybe still more at an advantage on the null side) but it will still be content. And thats IF they actually do.
Since Corps canât just align with a faction without being flagged for Faction Warfare, this prevents Null blocks from taking this over without dedicating a corp/alliance in doing so. At the same time, Elecus Matari cannot join faction warfare without being flagged for the faction war (which is an aspect of the dilemma the system of (allegiance) presents.
Hope this helps.
Null Sec Blocks cannot camp every gate that is front line oriented. I think this is them learning from the Fall of Niarja honestly. The thing is, that null has to dedicate force inorder to keep these gates camped and that is content for LS entities like Snuff. If they fight FW players/groups that are smart can slip in and run plexâs to further advance the system.
Even still, say on the gallente / caldari side there are actually too many front line candiate systems for all of the null blocks to camp every single site without reducing there own standing fleet potential. If Null blocks want to fight over a system they can but it wonât matter unless they are killing opposite faction players and even then its still (grand scheme) one system.
In the Minmatar / Amarr area that may pose a bit of a problem, but there are certain areaâs that are more or less controlled by the respective faction but actually controlled by pirate/LS entities that arenât FW. They will fight at that point because its endagering there way of making money from a LS perspective. I guess my misunderstanding is thinking Null can actually take these areaâs uncontested by other LS groups and even WH groups that want content.
Culture wise, the minute a Titan is involved, everyone wants to touch it, to fight it no matter what. People are believing that Null blocks will field these titans and its GGâs, but I see titans fall in LS, and its alot riskier to do this in an area that is alot less controlled.
Again, Njarja was just one system, Iâm aware it happened in others but there will be alot more frontline systems.
They also have to spread there titans around if they want to do this (successfully) which I donât bieleve will actually happen.
Nice analysis, thanks. Yes, perhaps he needs show someone on the doll where the nullbloc touched him.
There is a lot we donât know about the rewards and it may too much of a PITA for them in the end or there will be a rush to new content, good fights, someone will lose something they didnât expect to, recriminations and whinging, then boredom then⊠Profit??? I donât know. Just waiting for 4q and any other drops.
Another thing is Allegiance. They pushed the system back but depending on how this will work will probally affect the ecosystem.
If a Null block can just press a button and they are now essentially in faction warfare then its diminished. I doubt it will work that way though.
If there is something the null block needs to do inorder to gain that allegiance, as long as the content isnât farmable and as long as there is a decent enough penalty for them not being aligned anymore that canât also be farmed then maybe itll work.
This is in regards to faction warfare for profit as well in regards to LP. Rewards for the advantage system shouldnât be too much to incite farming from null or bigger groups, but should be enough to where faction warfare players dedicated to the playstyle feel rewarded
Then again, from a gameplay aspects if there goal is to push a system they will need to do more of these activities inorder to have better advantage of a system, that activity will need to be done repeatedly for those that are dedicated.
We can wait but that is my question. How would you and others design the allegiance system that would allow any players / Corp to Commit to FW but not do so in a way that a bigger group can nullify others?
Oh MAN did you just hit a chord with me. I quit for a year over that junk. It would have been ok if it werenât for the irreversibility of it. A bunch of IRL plex buying moguls calling in their sheep dogs to irreversibly waste multiple hours of many players time. Yay! âContent.â Now Iâm mad again.
Yeah lets all divert responsibilty from CCP who had already decided the map.
Theres gullicow
And theres EvE players lol
for the love of bob, can yâall spell âblocâ correctly? a block is something you build with, or where a group of buildings are. like a city block. a bloc, however, is a group of people banded together by a common goal, i.e. a political or military bloc.
The lesson thats learned, is the fact that (atleast from what Iâm thinking) anyone can reverse changes on the faction warfare map and with the different objectives.
Pretty sure they are thinking about the N+1 this time.
In the beginning, no one cared about the invasions except for the people taking apart in the content, then suddenly when people started figuring out what was going on null blocks started to get involed.
They would have been involved in the beginning if it wasnât covered up.
In this instance, it is better in my opinion to further create a system that can be fought over and in several locations rather than a cental one with one ultimate outcome, and thats pretty much what this is looking to be from a design standpoint.
I guess players are still as gullible as CCP thinks.
Amazing.
I agree with you bro, on-top of that when a large enough force sitâs on a gate people get complacent and make mistakes and that leaves some targets to pick off :].
They where 2 years late to the party by that time thou.
It was really great while it still had mystery. Still love poch and its concept tbh its like a mini pvp server for eve one where you can still move back to the normal realm.
Rnm! éé±ïŒ
Yep!
âWill the last one out please lock the door, too?â
That is the hard part for CCP, constantly creating new content that has mystery. Once it has been gamed and optimized and you can pick from youtube tutorials, the mystery is gone. Sanshas were cool, Triglavian invasion was great, lots of player involvement. Dr Who was fun. All got gamed and now we are on to the new fix. Will a revamed FW be the next âmysteryâ or shiny object? Weâll see, but players are talking and even hardcore FW players who wouldnât get with 100km of RP or narrative stuff are paying attention.
If the update doesnt force farmers to fight or leave fw it wont do much goodâŠgive the plex gates a warp scram feature âŠhate activates while youre inside, youre scrammed for 30 secâŠweed out the damn farmers
Lol, total â â â â â â â â , too funny.
Navy CorvettesâŠ
Thatâs it, thatâs the post.
- Rearguard â Neither adjacent to an enemy controlled system or a Frontline. These systems will have comparatively few site spawns and lack LP rewards â but can be slowly pushed over for a faction that wishes to open a new frontline in the warzone.
If a Rearguard is pushed and becomes a new Frontline, will the Rearguard then produce the same rewards as a Frontline until all of the battle zones become one gigantic Frontline?
After watching fw space tbis week. Im pretty sure itll end up as nothing but an amarr/caldari null bloc isk farming systemâŠthis update will kill fw instead of fixing it.
