I acquired 5 Atavums, my science team is currently studying them and the ships they were obtained from. And I confirm that they seem to warp the surrounding spacetime. I wonder if this could mean that the shrouded structure is a wormhole generator that needs the Atavums to generate them, or maybe they would be used to modify or deactivate a hypothetical spatial distortion field that makes the structure cloaked, and that with this distortion field modified or deactivated the structure would be accessible and what it contains could be used by the Deathless to fight the drifters in a more effective way than what the empires can currently do.
I’ve gathered 50 of them for the time being. They are in a secure container void of air. Anyone knows if this tech is similar to drifters in origin?
Since the drifters are of Jovian origin, then technically yes. The drifters seem to be sleepers awakened from their stasis in the enclaves of Anoikis, the sleepers of Anoikis probably come from the second Jovian empire because the drifters seem to be inspired by the tyrants, the leaders of the second empire, for the name of their faction and their members. For the Atavum we are still doing research to know from which period and which faction they could come from but in my opinion they could come from between the end of the first empire and the founding of the second because the Jovian symbolic data which was used to discover the location of the gates to Zarzakh evokes an outpost in the “core stars”, a strange desolate place where the first tyrant united the Jovian people. I think this place could be Zarzakh because it is located in the Yasna Zakh “region” which almost separates the cluster in two and because this system is radically different from those where the other civilizations of New Eden have settled. Perhaps the Fulcrum and the Shrouded Structure were created by the founders of the Second Empire if it is indeed where the Second Empire was founded. If the Shrouded Structure was built by them then perhaps the Atavums that seem to be connected to it were also first created by them.
Anyone figured out how to trade Atavums to SoCT? Where and how to do it?
I thought they were just paying straight ISK? If that’s the case, they’ll probably have an open market buy contract in Geminate.
The Other still guides the Drifters. A consciousness that was born of the construct, thereby breaking the one body one mind law in the construct. The Other had emerged by entangling with Jamyl Sarum when cloned herself and faked hear death the first time, then later emerged with a Terran superweapon to defeat the Elders.
If memory serves, that would roughly put it in the same time period the Jovian’s migrated to the far north of the cluster and discovered the W477-P lattice, and the remnants of the Talocan. The Talocan were known for space/time distortion and manipulation technology. It’s possible the Atavum is second empire technology, but technology that was “adopted/retrofit” by the Jove from ancient Talocan relics.
On that note, Anoikis was in fact already in existence before the Jove ever discovered the W477-P lattice that served as the power source, and transport hub for traversal of the Anoikis systems.
Zarzakh exists within the “Point Of No Return”, above a black hole. I’d certainly say that’s well outside of the technical expertise or capability of settlement by any of the other civilizations that survived the collapse of New Eden.
The distortions visible around the shrouded structure looks like some sort of Eye. Perhaps a portal of some sort, but rather different from the Jove gates that lead to Zarzakh.
You must go to one of the SoCT stations present in Geminate, then you sell the Atavums as you would sell them to another capsuleer.
The Atavum distortion of surrounding space time might be related to how Planck buble generator[1] in container tech works but on the higher scale. Like containing lots and lots more space inside than on the outside compared with what we use daily.
If this hypothesis is valid I would advise using a very very large space, just in case, to contain what’s stored inside.
There is a structure in Zarzadh that allows you to exchange them for a deathless reward crate. It looks vaguely like a raitaru. It’s anchored a warpable distance from the insurgency ship caster (probably visible on overview too). I don’t know how much Atavum you need per reward crate as didn’t have any when I was checking the structure out.
