Disclaimer: The hypothesis you are about to read is just that, a hypothesis. Do not believe that this is confirmed information or that I claim to be right, I fully assume that I think that I do not have enough sources to support this hypothesis as true or credible and I hope there will be research and studies to shed light on this even if it proves me wrong.
While looking into the journal apparently written by Yosek Okada that capsuleers recently discovered in relic sites. I noticed something interesting with this log:
I’m intrigued by the fact that as soon as he noticed that the Drifters seemed to be members of the second Jovian empire he immediately thought of the “horrors” they committed and how they pose a great threat to the people of New Eden. It reminded me of this excerpt from the fifth Triglavians datastream about “The ancient enemy Azdaja”, aka Drifters and the second empire.
Now-time discourse-element (indecipherable) «recovered materials indicates presence» (indecipherable) unshackled in forbidden dominance arrangement «counter to ideological patterns recovered pertaining to Jove Empire of the Chamber of Tyrants !query++encode|Jovian expansionist polity iter.2.?.?|recode++process! indicating anomaly in ideological development» (indecipherable) pass through advancing-time new discourse-element configuration.
When I first saw this datastream I thought the “Jovian expansionist polity iter.2” was referring to Miko Bour’s brutal conquest to unite the Jovian enclaves to create a new empire, one might think that the “horrors” Okada mentions also refer to this conquest but he talks about them as if they were dangerous to everyone and not just to the reluctant Jovians who didn’t want to join the second empire. I then thought of a hypothesis: what if during a period of its history the second empire had tried to impose its ideology on other civilizations? Since the second empire went much further than the first in terms of genetic modifications proving that they were more “radical” about using this possibility of transhumanist modifications one could even think that they forcibly genetically modified the members of the civilizations they targeted, much like what Sansha’s nation does with its mind control implants. Maybe the Triglavians were a civilization that fell victim to this “conquest” before rebelling and fleeing into the abyss, or maybe they were a rogue Jovian faction that was against this expansionist policy. By the way, they talk about a secondary iteration of the Jovian expansionist policy but what about the first iteration? Is this referring to conflicts that predate the formation of the first empire or something else?
Now let’s talk about the quality of the sources: I’m willing to believe that Yosef Okada is saying something credible because he is a former member of the SoCT, and we all know that the SoCT knows a lot more than we do and that they are closer to the Jovians than anyone else so I think this source is potentially credible but that more research efforts would be needed on this subject, claiming something as true with only one source does not seem very relevant scientifically speaking.
Regarding the Triglavian datastream, the fact that they want to “extirpate” all the members of the second empire and by extension the Drifters, who seem to be their successors or at least act as such, which seems to indicate a great hatred or fear on their part towards the second empire and the fact that they seem to have known it could also suggest that this hypothesis could be credible, but then again I don’t have enough sources to affirm that this hypothesis could be true.
