It’s not just about grinding but the work put into the game. There’s a balance with the way things are setup in the game that is very delicate but needed for the economy to be healthy and viable for all players who put their if the work into it. Whether it’s a miner gathering ord for the minerals used to build ships and mods. To someone buys the or or minerals after it’s reprocessed and builds new ships. To the players that buy these ships to either rat in or to fight other players with. All the way to the pirates that blow up these ships and both sell the loot and have the players buy new ships to replace what they lost.
It’s one of many cycles of games economy and if any of it is disrupted by someone who doesn’t take the time to put in the work, it affects the rest of the economy in the game and that in turn affects every single player especially those who are putting 10 hours into it. By generating items especially ships or something like PLEX that sells for a lot of isk. Where does it come from, which players built it or gathered it or mined it to sell? At what is there a limit to this or does it continue to grow into more stuff being bought through RMT then what’s being made by Indy. At what point does that become a huge issue with the inflation that follows and the players in general are either forced to also start spending money on the P2W items due to the income being generated from grinding for 10 hours daily isn’t enough to replace a T1 cruiser or venture due to the prices increasing from inflation. How do you plan on funding every single Indy player who’s unable to sell a ship since they’re now cheaper to buy in the market then it costs to build one.
Everything mentioned is relevant and if you want to know what’s wrong about P2W AND"and the harm it’ll cause in this game. Alll you need to do is look at the current state of Eve Echoes right now and one example of this is I remember how high Plex rose when it was converted to smaller PLEX and even that wasn’t 8M per PLEX. Frigs that cost half the price of a carrier at 15B just to build one while selling for a few hundred mil by players swiping credit cards and completely shutting Indy out of business for the most part. it’s not going to be immediate but over time. Then there’s one more factor that needs to be considered. Once this path has been opened for the devs. What is going to stop them from increasing the monetization even more once they’ve had a taste. How many times have they said it won’t be P2W or it won’t happen again. It’s definitely been more than that first time and once that greed takes hold. I guarantee it won’t be long until that also grows and even more things become available to buy in the store while Indy is becoming a competitor to this. (It’s also what’s currently going on in Eve Echoes which the devs have been changing or adding things that make it even harder for Indy players to contain certain materials needed for building or being undercut by such mechanics as the insurance system I’m the game which is when it first started to become P2W.
I only mention Eve Echoes because it’s situation should be a warning for those on here and the harm it’ll cause if P2W is added to the game.
