Too Much Tank for a Skiff?

I’m just messing around with Skiff fits and focused on Thermal and Kinetic resist being as that’s the most favored of Neut Catas running Void S. I’m not building this like I said, just messing around.

Why all the bling? I can make a Skiff that has 240k EHP vs Void ammo using only T2 rigs and modules, for around 394 million ISK…

EDIT: Make that 280k EHP, and that is using only T2 modules.

As a side note, those hull mods you have on there are useless. All of the Skiff’s EHP is in its shields…

A 3.9B ISK Skiff?

The more ISK you put on your ship the more attractive it becomes as gank target.

Yep, fit it something like this:

And you’ll reach higher EHP than OP.

This T2 fit also only drops 45 million ISK loot on average for their efforts of taking down a 280k EHP ship, instead of a big 1.9 billion ISK reward for your gankers.

There is no such thing as “too much tank for a Skiff” but you can easily fit “too much ISK for a Skiff”.

oh 110% I’d never run it. It’s just goofing around with fits.

That fit doesn’t work for me. I’ve got max shield skills and that fit only gets as high as 148,268 EHP overheated.

Keep in mind that the Pyfa simulation is cheese tanking against void blasters (Thermal/Kinetic) as the OP mentioned, so change the incoming damage profile. This isn’t something you can do with the ingame ship simulation.

Also it was with minimal shield boosts from an uncored Porpoise. You’ve got a mining support ship in the mining fleet right?

Without Porpoise against void it’s 228k EHP.
Without Porpoise and against a general 25/25/25/25 damage profile it’s the 148k EHP you mentioned.

And it would be ganked by Coercers/Purifiers/Oracles just to laugh at someone putting 1.7B on an Exhumer. I have seen Gankers bringing down 700k eHP Orcas just for being a loudmouth in local. So this Skiff probably would be a good catch for them.

Ah thank you

Aye it would if it was ever built. The skiff I use every now and again is T2 fitted like a normal one so nothing special there. That OP fit is just theory crafting, I couldn’t afford to build it tbh.

I actually fly the fit I linked. I’ve been flying that fit since the day I got Exhumers, but I don’t much anymore. It’s for solo ice mining which I rarely do these days. I’ve been attacked once, but they only got my shields to 50% before Concord arrived. Since then, Safety has left me alone. They go after the Hulks. I got a message once from one of them saying, “I forgot how OP Skiffs are!”

Large groups depend on finding active players who are willing to do the task. Sometimes it’s just hard to get that many people riled up about an overtanked Skiff.

For reference, I used to ice mine in Brapelille. It was my favorite spot because it was quiet. Safety finally found it and moved in. To be cocky, I kept mining there just to see what would happen. I even met Aiko during one of the raids.

Just flying a skiff or procurer is enough to make casual gankers look elsewhere for targets.
I mine in wormholes. I use Covetors and a Porpoise in my own system and take prospects and bifrost down chain.
I fit them cheaply.
