[Tool] OMG - Oracle Market Genius — a free web tool for station & regional trading

o7

I’m a solo dev and a station trader, and I wanted my own market tool: something simple to use, that does the job better than what I had been trading with, with one goal — making ISK quickly and without friction. So I built Oracle Market Genius: it turns live ESI data into a shortlist of trades worth placing, in a couple of clicks.

It’s been running for a while for my own trading and it’s now in a state where I’d like other pilots to break it. What I’m really after in this thread is feedback — good and bad. Numbers that look wrong, filters that don’t make sense, features you’d expect and don’t find: that’s exactly what I want to hear. I’d rather read “this is useless because X” than nothing at all.

What it does

Regional trading
Compares buy/sell spreads between the five major hubs (Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Rens, Hek) and tells you what to haul where. Sales tax, broker fees and your own Accounting / Broker Relations levels are pulled from your character and already baked into the numbers — the profit column is what you actually pocket, not a gross margin.

Station trading
Same idea inside a single hub: buy order → sell order margins. Supports buying at a citadel with your own broker fee, so the maths matches where you actually park your orders.

Order errors
Scans for sell orders mistakenly listed at buy-order prices (fat fingers, misplaced decimals).
Sorted by total profit and ROI so you can judge whether it’s worth the trip.

Profit tracker
Imports your wallet journal in the background and matches your buys against your sells to compute the real realised ISK profit, per item and per station. No manual bookkeeping.

Blueprint tracker
Every blueprint you own, valued at the cheapest current contract price, with a running total. Handy if, like me, you have no idea what’s sitting in your hangars.

Item blacklist
Items you never want to trade get one click to disappear from future scans. Kept separately for regional and station mode.

Why it’s not just another margin list

The problem with a raw margin scan is that 90% of the results are traps: items that show a lovely spread and then sit unsold for three weeks. Most of the work went into the filters that kill those:

  • Min daily sales / demand regularity — how many days out of the last 7 the item actually moved. An item that sells on 2 days out of 7 is not a business.
  • Days of stock — how long the current stock at the destination would take to clear at the observed sales rate. Filters out items where you’d be order #40 in the queue.
  • Max volatility and buy vs 7-day high / sell vs 7-day average — catches the classic trap where the “cheap” buy price is only cheap because someone spiked the market an hour ago.
  • Top-of-book activity — is anything actually moving at the top of the order book? No movement = not interesting.
  • Market group filter — scope a scan to Ships and Modules only, or exclude whatever you don’t want to touch.
  • Skip my listings / skip my buys — hides items you already have orders on.
  • Plus the usual budget constraints: max item price, max total per order / per multibuy, cargo volume, min ROI, min profit per unit.

Every row links straight to the in-game market window (via ESI) and to EVE Tycoon, so you can sanity-check a trade in two clicks before committing ISK.

Market data comes directly from CCP’s official ESI API and refreshes on every ESI cache expiry (~5 minutes). Market history is imported daily.

The filter panel — this is where the traps get filtered out.

Regional trading: results with profit, ROI and daily sales columns.

Station trading inside a single hub, fees and skills included.

Order errors: sell orders priced like buy orders.

Profit tracker: realised ISK per item, matched from the wallet journal.

Blueprint tracker: everything you own, valued at cheapest contract price.

Access, and what it costs

  • Every new pilot gets 50 free credits. One credit is spent per trade scan (regional, station, order errors). Passive pages — dashboard, profit tracker, blueprint tracker — are always free and cost nothing.
  • Premium is a one-time ISK payment that unlocks unlimited credits and every feature, current and future, for life. No subscription, no expiry. It’s currently 50% off: 250m ISK instead of 500m. You can pay in installments — it activates once you reach the threshold.
  • To be clear: you can try every single tool before paying anything, and there’s no real-money transaction anywhere.

What I’d like from you

Genuinely, anything:

  • Does a number look wrong? Tell me which item, which hub, and what you expected. That’s the most useful bug report I can get.
  • Is a filter confusing or badly named? I’ve been staring at these for months, I can’t see it anymore.
  • Is something missing that would make you actually use this instead of whatever you trade with today?
  • Did the UI break on your screen / phone / browser?
  • And if you tried it and dropped it after 30 seconds — I’d love to know why. That one’s the most valuable feedback of all.

Reply here and I’ll read everything. Fly safe o7
