Transhumanism

Describing the brain as an antenna for consciousness suggests to me that our emotions and perhaps more are sourced beyond the physical body, in a similar way our player characters in EVE are motivated by a source beyond their “realm” of physicality - us.
Mods my enhance or perhaps impede this connection.
Do memories and experience exist beyond the grey matter? If so, why not hack it?

In that theory all ends up with survival of the fittest…

humans violent nature is also head to head to the survival instincts …

We become more and more civilised but still yet we are perfectly capable for violance…

Human being created monsters like Hitler and Nazis Then alianise themselves to believe like they are nobody like them …

This is human beings biggest illusion… to be blind to themselves … hundreds and thousands people who tortured and join be part of unspeakable crimes were not different todays johns and janes .

As long as we do not acknowledge our inner monsters we will never be able to see what we are bearing inour chests untill too late …

But i am more hopefull i think for the future of human being …
We are not ready to reach out stars and absolutely not ready to encounter other existing lifes out there.

With a kinife you can kill a man … or you can make beatifull dishes joyfull and nourishing …

This is a choice … it is also choice of human being…

I understand Artificial Intelligence programmers have problems getting software to recognise robotic limbs as an element of self.
Perhaps “know thyself” is essential for life.

I’m unaware of the piece of lore where this is described. Without it, it looks to me more like your headcanon, sorry.

And even if this happened to a few capsuleers in some extraordinary circumstances, this is a far cry for being a possibility for every one of us. At this point I’d say is technically (or at least theoretically) possible but the the technology is not there yet.

There is a conical that describes it. I’ll look up the exact one when I’m home

It’s the one where a guy essentially becomes Bob with the help of the other.

The other being another example of an infomorph also not seeming to need a traditional body.

So the implant make the decisions ?

Listen im aware you are on bit more lore and role playing mode… but my approach and handling pretty different here …

No matter how much advanced tech we are talking about doesnt matter … even on assumptions it doesnt add up

Well yeah… but it’s jove tech and for all intents and purposes that makes it basically magic.

For instance the other seems to be able to survive without any physical body at all.

I feel like we are juggling two different actually more than 3 different dimentions … ISD really shouldnt moove this post out of pod experience section…
All these different dimentions very enjoyable to talk about … but it is also easy to go cross section really .

That was EXACTLY my point when i have been trying to set it straight to keep it on general discussion @ISD_Golem

My main point is that the idea of transhumanism in eve has nothing to do with cloning as that tech creates a new life, it doesn’t continue or advance a human one.

If you want to explore transhuman ideals I would direct you towards how the federation uses gene modding and cybernetics to alter the abilities and appearances of individuals.

It’s something practiced to varying degrees in all empires but it’s most celebrated inside the federation.

Another example would be the sansha who have taken it to a rather dark extreme

Whaa what ???

Why do you looking at trashumanism from that much large content from a needle hole ? Or you just talk in the limits of what you know
Jove s story is story of transhumanism dystopia vers…

Are you trying to role play or you are in your general deniying / ignoring mode on ? It was you also claim that legid game play griefing is not allowed in EvE … while bunch of pirates laughing who has griefing in their lifestyle mottos in EvE

Yes the jove is another example of transhumanism. A major extreme being that of the jove.

My point is that the clones of new eden are not. They are an entity independent of humans.

More like the smart ai of halo.

The infomorphs inhabiting the clones are created via the sacrifice of a human mind. But they do not continue that humans life or allow that human to transcend in any way. They just die and a new being is created.

Why not take it more like a metamorphosis?

…please don’t say you are afraid to be compared with a butterfly.

Because while the current tech used kills the original doner there is nothing physically preventing the two entities from co existing.

So if a technology could be found letting a mind be copied and not destroyed you simply have two distinct beings.

Actually it does… that is also a hardrock treshold capsuleers pass through… self destruction or even flying to death …
Survival instincts are basic for many living organismas, accepting and experiencing death is nerve breaking … Clone technologys self create a breakthrough way for humans to come over these basic instincts … if you look through all over history from the ancient ages human being always stick with some kind of after life fantasies… these beliefs and fantasies , search for a cup candle water or apple whatsoever are all related to todays human being stands tight close with our narcicistic tendancies…
Cloning allows human being seamlessly accumulate knowledge and experiences … and carry on …
You are not the same person as the one before destroyed you are more even though you loose all …

Let me know when CCP allow us to use same characters of us at the same time if we subbed.
There are people in RvB who pulled the ■■■■ , still hounted by my ghost and afraid of my shadow …. even im not around for months.

Double blue Will be fun

Just because the human thinks it will live on or because the infomorph thinks it is the same being as the one now expired doesn’t make it true

Please rephrase it. And reason it

I mean unless you break tos all of your alts are just different bodies controlled by the same infomorph

No it does not . They clone my character not me .My every each toon in game has different past , personality and expertise

Also , when you jump , you loosing all your implants if you did not stored… even you store them these will not transfer into new body .

In moment of death all information about the brains last chemical , biological , electrical and physical condition transfer into new one . So yes like i have mentioned before … in EvE there must be some kind of tech that make that instant possible .

Do we remember the death moment ?
Yes … even no CCP sent a kill report to inform you …
not enough zkillboard announcing to rub it
