I want to turn of the automatic opening of the Watch List window when I form a fleet.
Can’t find any option in the UI settings, in the Fleet Setup options, or in the Watch List window itself.
Any ideas?

I second this. It should only appear if we want it to.
This change results in, typically, 15+ additional mouse clicks per day minimum, 25 additional clicks per day (average); and 45+ additional clicks per day maximum… to close the Watch List. Those are clicks which were not necessary previously. Keep in mind that a click also involves repositioning of a mouse pointer across multiple HD displays. It’s like free Plex only different.
If I could reciprocate with such Christmas gift giving, I would do so by inserting a Microsoft Office Clippy into the implementor’s Eve Online clients. It wouldn’t be as comparable though since, at least with Clippy, the installation was optional.
If the developers insist upon keeping this change, please consider adding an option to Not open the Watch List whenever the Fleet Window opens. Thank you.

got my vote
I’ve not found a way and it frankly drives me crazy. When setting up hauling fleets I’m now closing the watchlist on 2 clients AND dragging the one member into a watchlist on the third. so 2 clicks as and drag / right click vs before just a single “right click “ to add to watchlist for the one character that needed it. Is it a huge deal? no. Is it annoying as heck as I repeat this process a dozen times a day - YES!
Yeah, those first two windows that pop up when you join a fleet are fine, but that third and smallest one is what really pisses me off, too!
Three pop ups are just one too many, right?
/sarcasm
I agree. It makes sense why they’d add it, but it only makes sense for a fraction of all fleets being made. By making logi pilots happy, they’ve annoyed everyone else who doesn’t use it. Mining fleets for instance are now afflicted with this feature. I don’t see why they couldn’t just make it an option to toggle. It seems like a pretty reasonable ask.
Every member of every fleet should have the FC watchlisted, at the very least. You’re anchoring on them all the time, so it’s easier to have them watchlisted than to have to find them in a chat window or on overview.
If I didn’t enjoy clicking my mouse button so much, I would complain a lot more about this.
Annoying to our services as we fleet up with people all over the universe.
Sure, because we should set the standard based on how just a few people use the system, opposed to how most people use the system.

Ok, for the hard of thinking…
We don’t want it removed, we want an option.
Same with the imbecilic rock tumbling noise when you’re gathering a gas.
My mining fleet that consists only of me and my alts should not have FC watchlisted.
This ‘‘feature’’ appears in every fleet in game, every. Which is not needed and could be great to be able to switch toggle for this thing.
There are many default actions in the game which might seem helpful to a majority but which are an inconvenience to a potential minority -even when such a minority might include high paying customers (i.e. multi-boxers). It would be nice if such “default” actions (including this Watch List one) could be selectable or adjustable via Settings | Reset Settings. Regarding this watch list issue, an option for it would, preferably, be found there.
Not to side-track this thread but, this issue seems to be part of a larger one of CCP’s chosen defaults. Rather than addressing only this one annoying default, options for others could also be made available. Potential candidates might include the following:
· Whenever undocking from a station or jumping through a gate, orient the player so that they are staring directly at the sun for maximal retinal damage.
· When entering the game, always shift focus to corp chat rather than local.
· When entering the game, if the player is docked in a station, set the view so that they are forced to look at billboards in order to cause light-induced epileptic seizures.
· When launching a character into a fresh profile, force the character to spin in circles within station for maximal nausea generation.
· (tongue in cheek) When engaged in Planetary Interaction / Industry and setting extractor head positions, use a color mapping scheme which would get any real-world G.I.S. software developer fired.
· Dis-allow certain character right-click options based upon which window the player icon / thumbnail is being viewed from (e.g. Corporation | NPC Settings window versus Local Chat window and Contacts windows.
· and etc… ?
