Two Small Changes I'd Like To See

A couple of perennial minor annoyances…

  1. Would it not be good to be able to see how ‘used’ a laser crystal in inventory is…without having to mess about with removing existing crystals from turret and insert partially used one to check the used level. I assume the ‘used’ amount is an actual property of the crystal itself and independent of what turret it is placed in.

  2. Not everyone uses haulers to move stuff, especially smaller stuff like modules, ammo, drones, etc. More than enough small stuff can be fitted inside, for example, a Praxis. But, my Praxis already has stuff in it…ammo, nanite paste, stuff for module swaps, and so on. That means that when I arrive back from Jita with a load of bought stuff, I then have to remember what is new stuff for unloading and what was always there in cargo. Usually that is pretty straightforward, but not always so. It would be good if there was some way of separating the two.

Cargo space in ships is ridiculous.
As an exemple, the Catalyst has 450 m³and it’s supposed to be a destroyer. That’s not even the area of a two bedroom apartment. As a way to prevent pilots from mining in combat ships it’s pretty lame.

Crystals have a structure HP attribute on the item card that indicates how much durability it has left, if CCP still deigns to display it to you.

A 2 bedroom apartment’s area is about 1000 square feet, or (rounding up generously) 94 square meters. Assuming the walls are 2.5 meters high, that would total 235 cubic meters, well short of 450.

More time in the game and less time in the forum would go a long way towards mastering the simple things you are having a hard time getting a handle on.

Mr Epeen :sunglasses:

Marauders are probably the battleships with the most natural cargo space in this entire game. It’s honestly scary what they can haul. Take this from an incursion runner who brick tanks his ship when moving.

tbh I don’t see many PVE cases (in HS) where you need to haul so much ammo/charges it becomes annoying.
I just haul the ship + what it can carry then go back in my very fast blockade runner to get ammo and I am set for at least 2 weeks.

But again, I do all my PVE in a marauder, so I am probably biased about this.

That’s even worse.
Thank you for correcting my math.

For point 1, yes

For point 2 I’ve set up two inventory filters: charges and !charges.
After a loot run in my exploration ship I enable !charges and drag everything over.
Then I disable the filter and usually have very few stacks of charges to move over and they’re easy to pick out from the ammo i want to keep.
For very weird inventory management situations I put a container in the cargohold and put the modules or MTU or whatever in it.
Catalyst with cargo expanders can fit a 1000 m3 PI Command Center

:joy: :joy:

That is insane. Cargo space can really impact ships in PVP also. More room for paste/charges = more cap/tank. So, there are real implications to changing how much cargo these ships have.

would like this… it would be a small QoL buff

if you dont remember what you just bought then why is this CCP´s fault ? you either can use cargo container or empty your cargo before you start to move … we have to many different cargo´s and also to many pop ups to accept !

right but why dont shot it on the icon ? wouldnt have much impact its just QoL

CARGO PALADIN … xD

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be visible. I’m just giving a method for determining the health of a crystal that does not require loading it into a module and doesn’t seem to be common knowledge.

CCP will do whatever CCP will do. These aren’t novel suggestions. I see them appear over and over again, so I see the likelihood of them being implemented this time as being low. It doesn’t hurt to beg for the umpteenth time, but if there is something that people can do to improve their QoL today that they don’t know about, I think it’s probably in the best interests of all concerned that it be pointed out by someone until it does become common knowledge and people aren’t assuming it’s an attribute somewhere, but know what attribute it is and where to find it.

i was saying “right but why dont show it on the icon ?” as i would apriciate t see on first sight wich crystal has how many dmg.

actual i´m delete the crystals if i´m repackage a ship because its to much effort for me to look through the dmg such priceless crystals

And where does one find it ? A screen print would have been useful. I have been through every single tab on the item in inventory and nowhere does it say what amount of the crystal remains.

It ought to be displayed by simply hovering the cursor over the crystal. But I guess that is too much like common sense for CCP. I have situation where I have to swap turrets ( between beam and pulse ) on a ship…which means unloading crystals. One can then end up with 15-20 unpacked crystals in inventory with zero idea how much usage any have. All rather absurd.

And yes, I often just end up thinking ‘stuff this’ and delete them.

I got to that point a few months into my first foray in EVE Online. Same situation you describe. I ended up biomassing and getting a Gallente character. Fudge those crystals.

Just set it up as a courier contract?
Not sure if you can courier contact to yourself, but an alt should be able to assist.
