AUD is dropping faster than most other currencies to the USD. This puts our month to month Omega costs at just under $33.00 per month which is just too expensive for myself and friends. And it pushes up all the long term subscriptions too. The problem is not only cost for all AUD players, but trying to get new players into the game. They don’t want to pay 6 or 12 months to get discounts in the early stages of exploring the game to see if they like it. And they won’t have the ability to generate 500 plex for a long while. Many of us don’t have the time or ability to generator 500 plex as it is. I’m happy to pay to play Omega, but the cost plus USD exchange has pushed it too far. Perhaps another currency can be used?
What other currency would you prefer? EUR? GBP?
AUD → USD 0.63
AUD → EUR 0.56
AUD → GBP 0.48
Of the three, USD is your best rate of exchange. Last I checked, USD is the 10th most valuable currency in the world, behind EUR, GBP, CHF and six others.
I don’t know what the answer is. Use a third party to charge each currency. Just saying, the cost is creeping and it will keep going.
The cost isn’t creeping. The cost remains the same. Your currency is devaluing relative to the world market, and so it takes more AUD to purchase goods and services internationally. I’m sorry, but changing who processes the charge is not going to improve the exchange rate.
