Why not just stop the drones from attacking once a player has been inactive for 2 minutes? Breaking drones for everybody because some folks abused them doesn’t seem like a well-thought-out strategy. Figure out ways to target your attacks on the players you’re trying to attack, CCP.
@ccp could you look into giving Mining frigs a little more lock range. I don’t mind having to command my drones but I need the Ability to lock the rats… at least drone range. K thanks.
Venture 17km lock range 32km drone control range seems a bit off.
Hello,
I would like to express my strong dislike for the drone changes. my particular reason is that as someone runnign DED sites ( not multiboxed, botted or something else ) it takes way too long to lock every single rat and deploy the drones and give an attack order. I am not even talking about high end stuff, just the smaller 1,2,3,4/10 with multiple rooms and 20+frigs in each of them are an absolute pain. I understand why it was done but there has to be a smarter solution than simply disabling the drone agression. oh and no I will not ever change my playstyle to nullsec hardcore pvp beacause of that. pressure to change without any good reason and reasonable explaination only creates one thing, resistance.
Wrong, wrong and wrong again.
PLEX is already in the system when a player A buys it from CCP
Player B only provides the purchase*, and so the reason why player A sells PLEX is because player A needs ISK.
*Player A might get his ISK directly from CCP, so player B will not contribute anything to CCP sales. Get this into your head…
Rhetorical question: Assuming that getting ISK will hardly be possible and player B wins Eve, but player A continues to buy his PLEX for the money and sells it to CCP for ISK, how much less does CCP have in terms of turnover?
Hint: there is no reduction in turnover.
Yes, at the moment, player B is the beneficiary and supposedly means “more revenue” for CCP, but as shown, he can quickly lose his role without any boredom for CCP.
All CCP needs to do is let NPCS buy the PLEX, like the blue Loot from the wormholes, or Abyssal Loot.
Then player B is superfluous and must watch how he finances his subscription. In any case it would mean more turnover for CCP.
thats the important point you seem to miss. No AFK guy, no “contribution”(300$) from you. Thats actually bad for CCP, because 300$ less for CCP…
This is fine and dandy, but who do you will play with if all “players B” leave this game? There will be desolate desert instead of already shrink population.
Player B are mostly Bots, or highscaled Multiboxers, who neither contribute to the big battles nor to PvP. The PvP players can choose the right targets and not afk bots.
All of them are constantly complaining that they would go to dock immediately when neuts appears in the local. There will still be a couple of bots that will outbid the NPC ISK prices for Plex and continue to finance themselves for free, that should be enough.
Then CCP will be forced to think about other incentives to offer proper PvP.
Not even close. Absolute majority of players I know prefer to pay for game time in ISK. Most of them will just switch to another games if they lose ability to play for “free”.
And I don’t play in null-space ratting alliances at all, I’m speaking about regular 1-2 account players.
Think I read long time ago, CCP put PLEX money on hold until PLEX is spent on something. I.e. if you buy 500 PLEX for $15 but never use it, CCP can’t use your $15 either. But I pretty sure, there are no law what force them to do so (I may be wrong though), it’s just self imposed limitation.
Anyway, kudos to CCP, let’s hope they won’t backpedal later. ![]()
Exactly there CCP could still get a lot of money, even if half of them should stop, it will certainly pay many subscriptions. ![]()
How? This people will just leave, there will be less content in EVE, which will result in even less players willing to buy PLEX and pay for sub.
I think PLEX is great invention by CCP and only thing what let this game still run after so many years.
Bots, skillfarm accounts, multiscale farmaccounts are not content.
These are just NPCs with a player tag.
perhaps address the substance of my post?
Do you understand that some of the people that pay their subs with isk are just normal active players that figured out how to play the isk game?
500 PLEX are just under 1.4 Bil now, that’s pocket money.
My feedback is:
Boy am I glad I didn’t start paying for this game.
Because every Kevin is capable of plexing, our game is so broken. As with PvP, where loss should mean something, it should also mean something to earn a monthly subscription with ISK and not to get your free month in a few hours.
Man, I know what I’m talking about. I’ve only been in the game since last year and already have 150B and 140M SP. It’s just crazy how easy it is when you just know a little bit about the things.
The game is not broken, the game is 17, everything has been figured out. And this is Eve, it’s a cultural thing here, to figure things out and exploit them in unsuspecting ways.
Well then we don’t have a problem and CCP is bored so they try to change something? OK Kevin

Not broken doesn’t mean changes are not needed dummy. I’ve nothing against the changes, i just pointed that you assumption that all people that PLEX their accounts were bots or multiboxers was stupid.
Broken is not really meant broken, but that something must change dummy.

Not all, you are right, but to much. And as I described above, all these people have much less importance for CCP’s turnover than they claim. they are just beneficiaries of the situation.
