Link Wray’s “Rumble” was one of those once-in-history themes. Nobody knew that an electric guitar could be played and sound that way, which was the daddy of all hard rock to ever be.
Also, the ominous sound of the song made many people uneasy (remember, that was 1958) and thus Rumble holds the record of being the only instrumental to ever be banned from some stations…
