When did Black Ops lose the 100% shield bonus?

True, but trying to hit anything is next to impossible. I had a Legion web’d and scrammed and couldn’t hit it if my life depended on it. A grappler might have helped, but I suspect I’d have needed a grappler and a second web. That’s 4 mid-slots just devoted to “catch and release”…

Scram, web and grappler could maybe have been enough already, but some neuts in the spare highs could also help.

Luckily a Marauder breezes through PvE anyway so you should have some flexibility in building in some PvP capabilities right? The web and grappler can even help you in PvE too.

I had a heavy neut and heavy vampire - those weren’t the problems, either. The only thing I could hit it with were drones. And no, unfortunately a web and grappler don’t help in PvE, either with the large railgun nerf. I need a grappler, pair of webs, tracking-speed equipped tracking computer and implants just to hit a frigate-sized ship under 20km.

Sounds like he might have been specialized in getting under a Marauder’s guns. Tracking disruptors, 100mn?

Counterplay is definitely a weakness of any ship.

No tracking disruptors, but he did switch out several different ships/fits in an attempt to find one that might work. He couldn’t break me but I couldn’t hit him, either - so it was effectively a draw.

Yea, Marauders are tough to kill especially solo even if you have time to make a counterfit.

Maybe something like a Cenotaph could do it. Or definitely another Marauder.

Yeah, a Cenotaph probably would’ve had a better chance (better tracking, pods, etc.) I give me a “C” for effort. It’s one of my gripes with battleships as a whole - that they’re basically ineffective against anything smaller than them.

You have chosen the worst of the big weapon systems for tracking tho, maybe second worse. I haven’t compared marauder rails vs arty.

Clearly rails have other advantages, which is why you’re using them in lvl 4s, but there are other weapon systems you can fit to Marauders which will cope with smaller stuff pretty well.

Rails are in a good place, makes it hard to argue for Arty in most situations, rails are just better.

So no, they don’t need a buff.

I had blasters in my latest PvP engagement, so it wasn’t a problem with railguns. And yeah, trust me - railguns need their tracking returned (you may have an argument for small/medium, but not large). They’re still basically useless for any kind of close-range PvP anyway.

You weren’t tracking a webbed, scrammed Legion with Blasters?

That surprises me, but I still don’t think hybrids need buffing.

did you try debastioning and moving your ship to match his transversal?

I got a few shots in when he approached, but as soon as he started orbiting I couldn’t hit him. I’d get the odd random shot in - but nothing that added up to much in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, tried everything - dropping out of Bastion, repositioning, etc. Nothing made a difference. I think if I’d had a grappler I would’ve seen a higher ratio of hits - maybe that would’ve been enough for the blasters to track. But I suspect I’d have needed a second web as well.

If I’d been in a Golem, he’d have been history. Just a scram and a web would’ve yielded 40-50% DPS with torpedoes. A target painter would’ve pushed that even higher…

Yeah missiles are OP.

That’s slightly alarmist, but missiles are certainly in a good place in the weapon system rankings.

The tradeoff with missiles is of course flight time. It’s not a coincidence when you see those “solo dreadnaught” battles that it’s always a Phoenix… If FC chooses to touch missiles they’re playing with fire.

that has more to do with high grade hydra’s than missiles in general, gun application implants when?

Tracking Computer, Grappler, Scram and a Legion just melts.

Strong Drop + Pyro 7 and lets dance.

Grappler would’ve helped; on the fence with the tracking computer. I’ll try this next time….

The key is the combination of modules and the usage of the Strong Drop drug. Never fly without, just leave it in the cargo in case someone ties to attack you.

It is not our choice how to call them. They made this clear with the name change announcement how they are called and abbreviated.

Their individual naming tags also changed from “CCP someone” to “FC someone”.

So unless they do another announcement, it is set for “FC”.

You can see how it was signed by “FC Hellmar” with his new callsign here:

And it was also discussed in further posts after the announcement.

No.

I just cannot see any BS below 100K EHP.
And Black Ops are BS.
Panther got same Hull of the Typhoon.
Tonnage means armor plates, or shield plates.
Anyway a BS with less than 50K EHP I never expected that.
THere is something inherently wrong in this passage,
which began with nerfing all T2 BS hulls of their 100%Shield/Armor bonus away.
It was the best update EVe received in years.
For once CCP was listening to feedback.
Now seems that all it matters is the amount of Trillion is ship loss.

Eventually players will give up because every ship they touch- change
get the same treatment.

I don’t want to say what I think but it’s under the Sun.
