When did Black Ops lose the 100% shield bonus?

I have to look at the Sin again; I know it got a bunch of tweaks.

The Sin was my first blops and as Gallente drone boat it should be a favourite of me, yet it is still my least used blops.

The recent scram bonus made it capable of tackling a super all on it’s own, which I guess is nice.

Yea good mention, I forgot about that one.

Because you mentioned the widow… this was a 350K EHP sniper fit
for the widow, only 1.2B… so… yes…
FNR HAS NO IDEA of what is doing, if it has anyone left that can think outside
the box, we wouldn’t be here, talking about what it literally was
a successful implementation across the board…
every BS had the bonus, so Carriers and supercarriers has 400% bonus also on plates… and we might have moved in more powerful (and cheaper) weapon systems, like a Thunderchild or Babaroga, which both costs a fortune as of today…
now suddenly these 400K EHP monsters wouldn’t be more a great deal,
because there is something more interesting to talk about…

but because everything to counter BS, other than two other BS(…) is prohibitively expensive for 99% of Eve users, instead of making them more
accessible, we made yet another U-Turn.

Thunderchild is pretty affordable. I bought one last week with T2 fit for about 2B I recall.

Good amount of tank on that too.

So, two-three Thunderchild can not take care of five targets at a a time that suddenly 5 Redeemer or Panther has become a problem that needed to be nerfed along with all Black Ops class???

I mean, Catalyst introduced a lot of changes in the Mining, the Odysseus, that literally I forgot to do anything else for three months at least…
So I never touched my Panther, but this seems a case of extreme lazyness
in finding a better solution to a non-problem…

I am not sure what you tried to say, but the Thunderchild has no covert jump drive so any reason to nerf blops wouldn’t be applicable to the Thunderchild.

Add a T2 version of the Thunderchild with Black Op-ness…
problem solved…

I would love a T2 blops Thunderchild!

Fast movement under cloak, covert jump drive, a bit lower EHP because of blops and it could be a fun tool for sneak attacks on fleets

Can’t say I disagree with this. I would prefer more surprising uses of ship hulls as well, as opposed to them being limited for just 1-2 uses in the game.

I personally have found my way around these limitations on some of the hulls in the game and I am using them in/for highly unconventional ways/purposes and successfully so. Takes some creativity to do it. But in general, yeah, I wouldn’t ask for total despecialization, but I think this thing with role limitations and specializations has been taken too far.

I just realized who this description fits to a T.

I admit I did not read all of this. I only remember the class from 08 when it seemed to be the crown jewel of ships that I could never achieve.

Can someone post a comparison of the class from then to now’s worth please? After nerf’s and by the time I could fly it, it seemed to be not worth flying for me anyway.

Was it the dream ship I remember?

Depends… what was your “dream” ship?

Not another forum poster though, Queotz seems unique here.

The black ops battleships are definitely worth flying as part of covops fleets!

There are public bomber fleets if you aren’t part of a group that does them, but I would recommend bringing a bomber before bringing a blops to get used to the playstyle.

Yes, which is unfortunate as it kind of relegates their use to low-sec or null-sec. I always envisioned Black Ops as more of a lone raider, but they’re kind of relegated to being used as a heavy blunt object en masse with a cyno.

They don’t need to be used en masse, some of the most fun I had was a single blops enabling a few bombers.

Even dropping a single blops is possible and is occasionally done.

I recall seeing someone using a Sin to hunt Marauders. Catch them with a T3C, drop a Sin with neuts and drones to empty their cap while thr drones whittle them down. Not sure if this is still viable these days as Marauders got considerable buffs since then.

But against other targets too a sudden battleship definitely is a threat.

Nope. The one I had in mind attended the FIFA final on Sunday and posed for the pictures with the finalists, only to have the Spaniards crop him out of their picture.

Gee, I wonder who that might be…

That’s hilarious.

I didn’t follow sportsball but I see now who you mean.
