While I understand your desire to keep the opportunity for outsiders of the Deathless circle and their pirate allies to obtain new technologies, it will come at the cost of huge insurrections ravaging entire systems with all the consequences that entails, especially from human traffickers like the Angels and the Guristas. The Drifters represent a great potential threat as proven by their attacks on the Amarr empire and the nullsec regions, but at least their attacks on New Eden have drastically diminished while the Deathless and its allies are well on their way to continue to wreak havoc in the warzones and elsewhere. And besides, the Drifters are probably as advanced as the Deathless circle so them capturing the Fulcrum may not represent such a great danger. In my opinion, for now the Deathless Circle and their allies are a bigger threat than the Drifters and should be eliminated first.
I just read the latest article from The Scope about the “journalist” who allegedly discovered that the Drifters’ siege could end after an unspecified number of days. I know it’s not a 100% reliable source but I find this testimony intriguing. Especially these words from captain Jovan Hrada of the Hrada-Oki caravan:
“If the Siege is about to break, does that mean he’s found the thing?”
“Then we get a fancy weapon to finish the job?”
Could this weapon, if it really exists, be a threat to the citizens and military of the empires? Could it be the thing in the center of the mysterious map from the Data Slices that the capsuleers discovered while studying recent abyssal rifts?
…defenses of Zarzakh, they may be able to pierce the defenses erected by the empires after Jamyl’s death as well.
What if I told you… Jamyl Sarum never died.
Cool, don’t help us, more money for us
Hmm, should I root for the evil, amoral savages that are killing and terrorizing good people across the cluster…
…Or the evil, amoral savages that are killing and terrorizing good people across the cluster?
I have to say as far as stories go, it’s hard to get excited for this one.
I mean, not to imply any sympathy for the Drifters, but only one of the involved sides is actively doing something in New Eden at the moment. Drifters have not been active in any actual hostile capacity in years, their focus seems to be entirely on the Triglavians at the moment.
Not that it matters who one roots for at this point though, the siege already broke, rather anticlimacticly.
Fingers crossed that whatever those degenerates uncovered will be their own undoing, and not a dormant Jove superweapon or something similarly dreadful.
