2 years break. First Day back. What In The Actual Frak!?! EVE statistics from 2003 - 2017 Present Day

my .02 isk

Eve is an old game. The player base are aging, and as eve always appealed to the older gamers (back in 2004 the average play age was late 20’s early 30’s) those gamers have other crap start to corp up (family commitments and other things) this is where you lose a group of players

The market in general has changed, players now was free to play, jump in do somehting jump out, type of game play. If you look at the market accorss the boad this is basicly whats going on.

MMO’s are in the decline, though, thats mainly the subscription model, WoW keeps customers because you cna jump in, do a raid and jump out.

EVE has shifted to taking more time to do stuff (jump changes messed with that, in a good way but also having adverse effects)

Other things to note, people consolidated acocunts (jump changes reduced cyno alts, and the new gate structures will do that even more) isboxer broadcast being banned (took out some alts) industry consolidation and rework (lose a few more) cap changes (a few more) etc.

We are coming out of a rebuild phase, in theory, once the structures are out and pos’s are dead ccp can shift to new things to bring in more players. will this pan out? who knows.

CCP as a company base don financials is doing ok. Though with the lay offs in oct that might not be the case this year, we will see soon though.

EVe is basically changing, but the player base for the most part is stable. Will the changes and new things (which i feel will start coming in the end of 2018 after gates are done) bring in new players? who knows.

do what i do, don;t worry about it and just play the game.

Being idiot has never been the thing in EVE.

Exploring new frontiers were the thing in EVE.

Oh this has been a thing. We normally call it being a “target”, or “killmail” though.:smiling_imp:

This is a dead horse topic. Every time I see it i wonder if the poster has ever been treated for anxiety. Because worrying about the PCU counts is just a sign of anxiety, a worry that “oh, the game I’ve invested so much time in might go away!!”.

More to the point, people who worry about the amount of people playing always have the ulterior motive of wanting to influence the developers (by appealing to their personal real life wallets)…

“The game is dying, gee CCP, you better add these things to the game for the good of everyone (especially the NEW PLAYERS), never mind that this things correlate to my own personal EVE Online wish list btw :hugs:

My answer to such discussions is: play the game if you like it, play something else if you don’t…

Seriously, the only thing this guy invented was how to be the biggest drama queen around. Not sure why you praise this guy so much, I mean we are all just glad he no longer plays EVE. The stuff he “invented” where some minor iterations on things people used for years.

i don’t praise anyone. it’s a list of people of whom i know they did stuff. i am beginning to think he must have done something seriously right, when it’s so easy to trigger you people just by writing the name.

one million isk into the piggybank. you’re not piggy, but i’ll make an exception.

Triggered? This ain’t reddit son. No, it was just weird to see that name among people who actually did something.

This is likely the best bit of advice there is. I needed to hear it thank you.

I’ve been a lover and hater of this game since 2011, but overall really like it now. Hate the PVP part of it, but love the spaceship part.

I think it’s getting better for the PVE crowd like me who play casually and like progression.

yet with that said… it does take a very long time for CCP to make any real meaningful changes, which I think the Agency feature is… makes things easier to jump in and do stuff.

Look at your bitcoint now…

Btw, I don’t give a crap about getting your attention which btw I easily got (given the arrogant replies you wrote and the many thousands of threads you have here Mr. “Bitcoin trader”), all I cared about is for other people’s attention so they do not lose money with hot air talk from uninformed and selfproclaimed “Bitcoin traders”… because people believe others over the internet.

The poor cleaning maid, janitor, truck driver, they wake up today and that was it for them…

The thinktanks laugh at the poor, they went in and out together, and had a nice easy 2017 ending.

Bitcoin can only be the future if it is properly regulated.

Have a look at the news now for the next couple of days, the panic selling is beginning… I have no idea if i pity the poor people any longer for constantly not learning and continuously losing money where they think they can make money the quickest and easiest.

Better overall presentation, refining and incentive for PvP would save this game. I’m trying to gather all sorts of PvP related info in another thread so I can understand what is going on a little better but it is probably in vain. No offense but I think the PvE stuff they keep introducing is a white elephant. It is novel for a while then fades and clutters the game. PvP never fades especially when there is so much potential for content in that space.

All good marketing for Eve Online surely came from the PvP content. It isn’t that difficult to understand. 80/20 on this and focus.

Some good friendly AI to support solo play might help (i.e. Command AI mercenaries if I belong to an AI corp). Then new pilots can get a nice taste of small gangs and epic fights early on without having to herd cats (other pilots) and wait to be commanded. But that might be a silly suggestion too. Then again, not like this should be difficult considering this sort of experience was available since Wing Commander 1 in 1990 FFS.
