So, ppl, what is the situation right now on the “”"“Tranquility”"""??
Given that the wailing and gnashing of teeth has quieted down to a back-and-forth over APIs, I’m cautiously optimistic that things are improving
@ccp as a long time player who complains very little (these days lol) I have to admit I’m pretty disappointed that you guys took a fully functional system and completely messed it up for the players.
A feature enhancement is something that benefits your players. In fact the case could be made that a successful launch of a new chat system is fully transparent and unknown to us. That is obviously not the case.
Now you are in a situation where you are trying to fix a brand new system that was working fine for the players a few days ago. With respect you should have reverted systems the moment an issue was detected instead of turning tranquility into a live test
To be clear this issue should be resolved and WTH is up with logging into Jita now — Please do not leave us with this terrible chat lag.
ps. Somewhere in your meetings was that one guy in the back that said “umm but maybe we should consider…” — please find that guy and consider giving him a promotion ty.
2018/03/22 - Unscheduled Downtime
I pretty much ran through the chain of events. I am sorry you folks…umm…didn’t notice. Immediately after the daily downtime there were issues. I run 5 accounts. Of the 5 I was on average having 2 accounts with very long jumps (well over 2 min). This became progressively worse. By the last couple hours before the crash I was getting disconnected on jumps, or being jumped into vacant space where there was nothing on the overview. In the last 15 minutes it was becoming increasing difficult to interact with modules. All else aside, there is no doubt in my mind your crystal ball, or the wall you were staring at, should have been telling you something. If nothing, well, I would say your monitoring tools need some very serious work on your end.
Hilariously, let’s go ahead and assume somehow nothing was showing on your end through whatever tools you use the monitor cluster performance. No one at CCP was online in Tranquility? My smallest corp had 3 people online. All 3, from different areas of the planet, were complaining of the same issues. My largest alliance had hundreds on, and everyone was talking about it. However, not one CCP employee read a single “wtf is going on”, “is anyone else unable to interact with modules”, “I am stuck in jump”? Seriously? Well, therein is my crystal ball. I’ll hook you up. Download the Eve client, make a character, connect to any local. Clearly it would be more use than whatever you are currently using since you find folks “had no warning”.
I have a great deal of difficulty considering your assertion accurate.
ok thx
