I moved out of 0.0 back to lowsec for pretty much the same reasons you mentioned here. My play time is very scattered due to RL and I definitely don’t find TIDI to be fun. But I’ve been having some of the most fun I’ve had in years playing eve hanging out in lowsec and trying to act like a pirate king 
You should definitely check out our corp Filthy Peasants. We’re a chill, lowsec, mostly US TZ with some AU TZ, pvp corp that lives in Solitude.
We’re not afraid to take fights and while most of us are multiyear veterans we accept new players who want to pvp. We’ve been around for a few years now and have no plans on moving or dying anytime soon. We have active leadership and a great FC team that loves to blow up spaceships. We fly a wide variety of ships such as kitchen sink roams, kitey gangs, brawler fleets, and the occasional BLOPS/Capital drop when the situation calls for it.
