A.I. music in EVE? Listen to some tests!

o7, capsuleers!

I’m currently writing my bachelor’s thesis on AI music composition for games, and have made some experiments with music for EVE.

There are a lot of interesting perspectives for AI music in EVE - each journey in New Eden is unique, and wouldn’t it be cool if the music was unique as well?

I’ve made some tests, using gameplay from EVE, and I could really use some feedback.

Here is a link to my survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZPW8ZKS

Any thoughts, comments or questions are very welcome!

Yes, that is definitely of interest!
I’ve actually used the CALMUS software for my tests, and the GDC talk you’re linking to is almost the base for my thesis

I’d love to hear your thoughts on AI music, as a member of CSM - would you miss Jón Hallur’s amazing ambient music, if CCP went all in on AI music composed uniquely for you?

A little, I think.

Though I have to admit, I normally turn the music off.

The end was a shocker, I was too optimistic, but man, that music was amazing. Shivers, chills, sinking feeling in the gut, amazing.

haha, yeah - it’s pretty much 50/50 when it comes to guessing which piece is composed by AI
Thanks a lot for helping me out
