A linguistic error in an official novel

While reading The Empyrean Age, I found a linguistic erro on page 240. My view may be wrong because my mother tongue is not English.

“Successive stargate jumps, especially when followed by hyperspace transits, was extremely taxing to human beings.” I think it should be “Successive stargate jumps, especially when followed by hyperspace transits, were taxing to human beings."

@Ian_Zhang You’re absolutely right. It should have been were, not “was”

Well done.

You are correct. For future reference though, the more accurate term for such a thing would be a “grammatical error.”
