I for one absolutely hate the current system of undercutting market orders by 1 Isk with fairly priced things going unsold because multiple other items were put on the market 0.001% cheaper and requiring a lot of micromanagement.
How I would like to sell things is with a unlimited duration market order. However unlimited duration orders create the possibility of the market just becoming unmanageably saturated with unreasonably priced orders.
So in order to use unlimited duration sell orders it would come with the limitation that the price of the item will be reduced by 0.2% every day until its sold.
kind of. now it just takes more micromanagement. people sell stuff in smaller stacks and either reduce that stack since it costs less to modify a smaller stack or just sell another small stack at a cheaper price
It is inconvenient to have a time limitation on market orders, but it’s necessary to keep the market healthy. If we had unlimited duration market orders, you’d have a lot of ancient ghost orders from players that are possibly no longer playing the game affecting the market, which is really bad.
Market PvP should require some effort, just like any other source of PvP.
If someone wants to sell fast, he can sell to buy-orders (immediate) or offer a nice discount right from the start. Nobody is entitled to make the maximum profit possible - automatically…
