Not sure how it works exactly, this is why testing it is the only way to know. Maybe it only acts like that if you are fully scrolled down, but maybe it retains the percentage of being scrolled so new entries or enough new ones would still push it.
It is not that relevant appears top, it is that the list is locked so you can actually click things without them jumping around, but new entries have to show up somewhere too so they go to the bottom assuming most people have scrolled up instead of down and it is only your specific niche use case that you want stuff to appear on the bottom. Probably for most people the system works without issue.
Would it not work for you if you set suspects and criminals to appear on top instead?
Well…I discussed the issue with several other people including one from my corp. And they experience that same issue and don’t like it.
It may be caused by having the list scrolled all the way down….but that is precisely what most of us suspect hunters do in Jita. It is primarily a Jita issue…..or indeed anywhere there’s large numbers. I’ll have to see if any have the reverse, with the suspects listed at the top…and if the same issue occurs. But the system ought to be able to cope with either.
I have my overview so that capsuleers go at the bottom and stargates at the top. So I can quickly flip the list if I need to chase a suspect to another system. This same setting always places the stargates along any route at the top of the list….very handy and not something I want to change.
It really isn’t customised much at all. Sorting it by type automatically places the suspects, red status, etc, at the bottom of the list. There isn’t some special setup to do this.
Yes…it took quite a bit of fiddling around, but I added the new column ‘Suspects’ and restricted it to only those I want to see in it. There is some clash of options so some have to be set to ‘always show’. Basically it now shows all suspects, all reds, anyone with status below -5, and of course anyone with a limited engagement timer….
Good job! Maybe you could also add gates and whatever to it as well so you can more easily follow your targets as you described earlier, assuming it doesn’t cause any issues.
