Hi, I would like to know about Abyss.
How to find entrances & exits.
What can be found inside.
What content is there.
What NPC stations, if any.
What NPC rats.
What exploration and mining content is there.
… everything if possible.
Do you have links to info?
Personal stories?
Suggestions… please, be as specific as you can.
Thank you!!
You need a filament to enter the Abyss.
Bring a cruiser, destroyer or frigate.
Inside you find enemies and loot.
The content is to fight enemies for loot.
No NPC stations inside.
NPC rats of all kinds, see for yourself.
No exploration or mining.
In short, you activate a filament and fight NPCs until you can continue until the next zone or get out.
You have 20 minutes to do so or your ship will explode.
20 minute adventure!
Thank you, Gerard!
How do I get out? Another filament?
There is a gate in each room, the gate in the last room is called “Origin” and leads back to the system you started the Filament from. You have to activate that last gate within 20 minutes after jumping into the Abyssal, else you die. Ship + Pod.
Abyssal space is three connected “chambers”.
The filament takes you to the first chamber.
Kill everything there and it unlocks the gate/conduit to the second chamber.
Clear that and the conduit there unlocks and you go to the third and final chamber. Cleaning that unlocks the Origin Conduit that takes you back to the place you initially used the filament.
End of the abyssal run.
In each chamber there is a cache, destroy and loot that for the valuables. The various extraction nodes also drop loot when destroyed, but they can take time to fly to.

Try an easy Tier 0 one (Tranquil) in a reasonable fit mission cruiser and work up from there.
definitely this! If not used to the mechanics in there, definitely begin small and work your way up. Even expensive ships totally fail in the higher tiers if the pilot does not know what he is doing or how to deal with certain situations. People can waste lots of money going up the difficulty ladder too fast…
I do filaments Tranquil and Calm are the easiest but I recommend you start with Tranquil. This is basically a 3 room space dungeon, you must complete all 3 rooms to exit safely. I lost a 20 M cruiser thinking bigger was better my first time out. I got to the last room and could not kill the last opponent 20 minute timer ran out and my ship simply exploded.
Youtuber Aceface has the most data on abyssal fits on his channel. I still use a slight variation of his Abyssal Punisher myself. I made modifications, since the video is 3 years old. There are many other Youtubers who have fits for abyssal, but Aceface makes a lot of videos dedicated to abyssal every day.
You will pay 3 filaments to enter with a frigate, but the rewards increase as your ships decrease in size. Also you will collect more filaments as you progress. Destroyers cost 2 filaments and I have done filaments solo and with a friend. Also make a nice safe point in high security 8.0 to depart from. Other players can scan down your opening and attack you as you exit. That hasn’t happened to me yet, but there is always the possibility.
Have fun!
Great info everyone! Very appreciated.
Thank you very much!

All these questions can be really covered within 5 minutes of Googling and 30 minutes of watching youtube videos… If you are too lazy to do this - you will have very hard time in Eve.
