Abyssal Destroyer vs Cruiser - loot

Hi all.

I see they patched abyssals recently which means a lot of the old guides are out of date. As such can anyone confirm if there is any advantage to using a smaller ship in abyssals such as greater loot?

I gave it a go in a destroyer, barely go out alive and it didn’t seem better but wanted to check the wider knowledge of the community.

Tbh, I only fly cruisers in Abyssal Sites.
