Topic. Seriously. What is up with this? Twice now I’ve been hit with a surprise “need to earn several hundred more points than I thought” during an event and I am NOT happy. This is really unacceptable if I’m honest. I had a busy end of last month and only have 900 points so far, and I don’t always have a lot of time to play. I THOUGHT I was close to finished only to now learn I am way further from the finish line than I thought so now I have to try to find extra time somehow to grind it out as quickly as possible instead of just being able to enjoy the dang event at a pace I’m comfortable with. Especially for disabled people like me who have debilitating conditions and chronic pain that limit how much I can do and how much time I have in the day, this makes me feel like I’m being pushed out of being able to fully enjoy these things; this shows ZERO consideration for people’s time.
More and more companies keep using this FOMO BS while also trying to force people to play more and more hours, I’m getting tired of it. I want time for other games and hobbies too, ya know. This has gotten ridiculous.
Please STOP adding to the reward track UNLESS you add more days to the event itself. Respect players’ time and stop trying to drive up individuals’ play hours. I already pay for Omega, you already have my money, you don’t need to constantly force feed me for player time retention or whatever weird metrics companies keep using for this crap. Please and thank you.
I couldent agree more. its a rough time of the year and i allready dont have time for everything i need to do.. im not even half way throguh both my main and alt for the event. i figured i had free time this week i could get them done no prob and still have some time to just relax and catch up on things i have fallen behind on. now i c this and bam i have so much more to do then i thought. i would have done more earlier if i had seen the reward track go ths high. but as it was i had plenty of time ot take it easy and plah more this week.. now i have far more to do then i knew i did . addin more onto it is really a bummer cuz i was not expecting thisand i did not plan my time for this had i known i could have been throguh more and been able to plan it bettewr now….. ahhhhh
Playing more EVE to earn PLEX to pay for EVE is already a waste of time, unless your job is particularly poorly paid, in which case I’d advise making a little cardboard sign and sitting in front of the grocery store begging for change instead.
You either earn enough to pay for PLEX as a matter of course during your time playing the game doing whatever is fun to you, or you buy PLEX with the money you earn doing your real job. You earn orders of magnitude more putting in an hour of overtime compared to grinding out EVE.
In effect, the PLEX at the end of the rewards track is just there to reward players who find the event fun enough to keep playing. If you don’t like the event, just don’t play it. You can go out and huff some gas and then sell that gas for PLEX or something and probably get done quicker anyway.
You got me curious. Was your goal the Perseverance BPC or the end of the track?
I originally thought they were adding to the login reward track to reward those folks that logged in everyday, and was bummed, but once I got into space I saw that they added the SP and plex there and was stoked. Got to grind a bit more, but I want that SP!
it has nothing to do with a job… i dont work imdisabled, taking care of my disabled wife.. i need 4 surgerys but caint get them as i have no one who can help me with caregiving for my wife or myself after such surgerys..i play eve for fun and i dont mind there bing a larg reward tracc i have an issue howere with adding more to the track so close to the end
Completing event track took me whooping 2h 30m for first part and 45min for the second, for an event that lasts a MONTH.
You colud’ve read yourself twice about track extension 09.12.2025 launcher news and 16.12.2025 launcher news beforehand but you chose not to. Or ignore event and do something you enjoy. Instead here you are, wasting your precious time on this angry post.
Notice the date? Now here’s the third paragraph from the link:
Had you bothered to read, you’d have known this was coming exactly like the last event that had just done this a week prior to this event starting.
I agree, so I don’t even try to get every reward in the event. Last event I didn’t even try for a single one because nothing looked interesting, and the event before that only had a single skin at like 600 points I wanted. This event, for me, is like the last one, there’s not really anything I care for.
The only person telling you you’re missing out on anything is you.
So CCP added 300 more points to the Winter Nexus event, that’s not a lot of extra points which doesn’t require a lot of time to complete it, especially when there’s a couple of 20 point repeatable tasks in it…
I’m actually disappointed with the expanded Event reward track, basically it’s just more of the same stuff they constantly give out… Skill points and PLEX is nice but we already get those from Log-in rewards, Opportunities, etc..
Getting a specialized Ship Skin for the Perseverance is cool but the temp Expert System seems to be a waste, especially since the Perseverance reward is a BPC that still needs to be built… Also not to mention the Ship Skin auto activates when claimed.. Not sure about the Expert System but it probably auto activates when claimed as well…
I would have much more preferred getting some modules to go with the Perseverance, basically a specialized Ice Mining Laser and Ice Mining Upgrade module… Even if they were received as a BPC, getting those would have been better than the temp Perseverance Expert System and a Ship Skin that auto activates when claimed…
So in my opinion CCP missed a great opportunity and failed to make the expanded event end really special…
I don’t see a problem here. If you don’t have the time or will to do the reward track, then don’t do it. Life is more important. This isn’t a mandatory thing, you won’t lose out on anything if you don’t participate in it. Those of us who have the time and who want to, we will complete that track. I don’t understand getting all worked up like this for a few free items in a video game.
