All exploration signatures visible in agency

If triglavians will be destroing player build citadels, CCP failed. They created mechanism that nobody want to interact with or have no incentive to play with (structures) but on the other end those structures are everywhere. Now if npc will be doing what players suppose to, where all this lead us? Frankly if we take a trip backwards nobody there, and I always wrote that, have bigger picture of the whole game. I didn’t like Seagull, but she was the best this game had. Her vision was better that what we had now. That trailer with gate showed it. I belive EvE will flop sooner than 5 years. What is in that major expansion? Trig incursions? For whom? Trig T2 hulls that will be balanced for the next year or more? The agency iteration that will destroy gameplay for many, just because CCP don’t know how to do proper tutorial?

CCP Seagull ?

Vision ?

We have a PvE carebear (who has no PvP ambitions) as creative head of EvE online. Also a new developer generation, who were socialized with WoW Themepark and Twitch gameplay. Legacy code and a complex sandbox economy nobody is left who wants and can understand. A CSM who, under this circumstances, successfully manipulates CCP devs, to secure their RMT empires.

What do you expect? The Triglavian story perfectly fits into this picture.

They’re not failing. They’re turning EVE into a game for bears and farmers.

That’s what they’ve been doing in the last years and it’s unlikely to stop, because farmers and bears are simple minds with loose wallets. Smart people spend less money! CCP’s doing what every company is doing nowadays: going for the dumb, easily manipulated, low hanging fruits.

Not sure EVE’s going to survive this, on the other hand are the taking a long, long time to change the population. I’ve been talking about it in 2017 already, and earlier. It started in 2013.

We can wish for the better, but as long as people aren’t actually revolting and unsubbing in masses, the game will survive. Their biggest advantage is that even the smart people are too stupid to gather up and protest. Instead they leave slowly, quietly and are being replaced by walking, talking, mindless money bags.

Who ?

This guy who role played Concord police last fanfest … Bergur Finnbogason. The carebear tag, he gave to himself in one of the streams. He is the creative director (Seagull’s successor).

You mean him ?

Doesnt’ look like him (or maybe much younger …). Here is the profile: https://de.linkedin.com/in/bergur-finnbogason-b6467341

No it’s not him,

I made a funny.

Thats the actor guy playing Pennywise the Dancing Clown…

And they’re slight lookalikes, in several ways …

No such thing as changing population, players just leaving. PCU is droping down, and they can’t react quickly enough to stop this. It was so many changes, in span of so many years, this is starting to impossible to salvage, like SP trading. It makes them money, but in overall it is a disaster when comes to gameplay and how them effect on cluster. CSM takes a part of it too. I remember how mess they create with scan window. Never been repaired. As Jester wrote, new features are sexy, who cares about something needed iteration? Remeber svipul? They gather data for a 1,5 year? Feedback? When they actually care for it? When PCU drops? Pride before destruction?

What’s happening?

CCP is creating a living virtual reality world that won’t need any real live player characters logging in to make it active.

I almost never use the agency I wonder if it’s some lame attempt to show management it’s being used, there’s also an agency redesign coming at the same time. The agency wasn’t well received when it came out and if this next redesign doesn’t become popular someone is gona be blamed at CCP for making a fail feature and wasting company money .

Every change CCP makes is always going towards you having an increased chance of loosing something and thus earning them money. The only reason i can think of is that hunters can more easily set traps.

Don’t want to go looking for signatures, no worries, CCP has you covered. Simply look at the agency tab.

Want a skillbook and can’t be bothered to undock, no worries, CCP has you covered. Simply use skills on demand.

Don’t want to risk loosing skillbooks in transit, no worries, CCP has you covered. Simply inject all the skills you want - even though you can’t actually train or use them yet.

Can you please tell me why you are taking away the key elements such as traveling, planning, exploration etc and making them to easy? Some of the changes you are implementing make no sense, dumb down the game and no-one actually wants them implementing.

Oh please, now everyone will see in advance where all the likely traps are and just avoid them, easy peasy.

If anything it will discourage Pvpers to go out looking for targets as everyone will know where everyone’s going, and the idea of falling into someone’s “trap” is gone.

And also discourage Explorers who enjoyed the idea of exploring with some sense of danger and unpredictability, which makes of the main bulk of the exploration community.

Way to kill both the Bambi and the Wolf populations at the same time…

And don’t even get me started how such a change will affect exploration loot prices and profitability, lel …

So no, not more ships will explode because of this change, in fact quite the opposite, as exploration will become yet another worthless predictable activity.

And CCP Wonderboy and CCP Burger, both giant fools for pushing this terrible idea through.

Actual new players will probably still get caught. With the introduction of any new tool, the disadvantage will go to whoever does not know how to use it. Even if the agency makes it clear what the tool does, it does not paint a full picture of how people will be using that same information against players using it for its more apparent purpose.

Putting a grindy farmer friendly facelift on the Eve interface is doing one of two things: Either it is putting an inaccurate face forward that people will be upset to find out is incorrect when their ill prepared venture is cut short, or it is putting forth an accurate face of what the game is going to become. I don’t like it either way.

CCP states: “…to make activities…exploration clearer and more concise.”

I joined the community as an explorer about one plus years ago, aimed at eventually exploring all of New Eden’s systems, and funding it using the relic/data sites I would come across during my travels. A big part of what makes this interesting, is by literally not knowing what’s on the other side of the gate, in terms of PVPers, sites, etc… This way, the focus is more on not getting blown up, discovering the universe, and many times missing out on great site opportunities because my choices took me down a different direction by exploring.

Exploration does not need to be more concise and clear. It’s also completely against the spirit of exploration to suggest I go right vs. left because there are more appropriate sites.

I have never posted or complained about anything in Eve, but this change fundamentally changes my primary activity in the game, in a way that just makes it less fun. I don’t really understand how anyone wins here, and based on what I’ve read, not many people seem to agree that this is the right choice.

If CCP actually reads any of these post, please re-consider such a wasteful change to a system that isn’t broken the way you think, and won’t be better with the changes you are making.

Hello Ix Zhi, welcome to Eve.

Over the years CCP has changed a lot of different career game mechanics. It may seem like CCP isn’t aware of what the playerbase thinks about those changes but believe me, they know and the best possible explanation for their silence is that they simply don’t care.

Just remember that you’re not alone and a lot of us players feel the same way. The best thing to do is to figure out how to work those changes to have the least amount of impact on your gameplay.

CCP Burger is such a disappointment. When I first heard he will he replacing Seagull, and he is “pve dev” I thought, grear now we get some love. Since then we had trig instances (in pvp mmo…), rng cash grab mutaplamids (nothing like copy rng cash grab looboxes mechanics, right?), The failgency…It’s hard to not sound bitter.
