Also want to register a vote for this being an awful change.
We want more people in space looking for their riches. The time spent jumping around, scanning sigs that aren’t suitable, going down dead pipes. All that is time that a player is in space and available for potential interactions.
A system where people don’t even bother going down that pipe because there are no sigs, or don’t even bother undocking as their area is dry. This is a system that discourages pilots being in space for longer.
Interaction between players is what this game is about. Interaction happens in space. Mystery is a carrot that keeps people undocked for longer. Removing that uncertainty is a huge mistake.
its an epic sin to put a timeout or a fuel requirement on cloaky camping but theres a magical New Eden wide internet that reports on all anoms and feeds them in to your year 30015 computer …just not in wh space because that wouldnt make any sense.
…point of the statement is its silly idea and sorta just represents a lot of the disconnect a lot of us are feeling right now.
That part is what is bothering me too. If they created the option for explorers to publish their scanned sigs to the Agency, that’s one thing. But the whole, “auto-detect signatures, but you still have to scan a few of them” concept they have going now, just ruins any level of immersion, and as @Mehashi_Kho said, ultimately will result in less people in space to engage or interact with. It’s a change for changes sake, not really tackling any problem currently in the game.
Pretty much everyone in the entire thread thinks this is a stupid idea bud.
Not just immersion-breaking, but in terms of having players out there in space searching for things and not knowing what it is they’ll find, be it pvp or pve encounters.
If you’d given the activity an even remote interest or experienced it beyond your current attention span, you’d probably agree as well, but you most likely haven’t.
I’m actually really glad about this change since this means I waste less time because (1) I know where to go for the signatures, (2) i can see signatures disappear and tell if there’s someone else competing for the sites and set up an ambush to kill them, and (3) helps me track the movements of anyone else running sites.
I don’t know about you, but this just seems like a win win in my book. I know you guys are just crying and being mad for the sake of being mad when you have to turn to the literal dictionary definition of the word and try to use that as an argument. lmao
The problem is you wont be alone doing this, and you’re not looking beyond your own individual experience to have aspects of the game dumbed down for your benefit. You’re one of those entitled players who want it all on a silver platter and then leave once they realize the activity isn’t profitable anymore.
For starters, this change will have a huge effect on exploration loot prices as the scarcity and time element to obtain them is reduced, making the activity much less profitable on the long run.
Then people will all be dragged into the same spot to get the best loot, shoot, or get shot at, turning the activity into a racing and camping game.
Pvpers will no longer have to work to get their easy ambush kills, Explorers will no longer have to work to get their soon to be worthless loot, which they’ll just eventually realize and stop exploring altogether.
Entitled easy-freeloading idiots like you are the reason games wither and die.
Why do people keep falling for the obvious trolls, there’s no way to have a worthwhile discussion on these forums (or pretty much anywhere on the internet really). Why even waste your energy on them?
