I’m really interested in Mining Fleets where groups of miners will get together to mine in the more dangerous places of Eve (I’m not having so much luck by myself).
Bonus if you are located around or near Jita, as that is where I currently am located.

You can join public mining fleets (benefit from the fleet boost and chit-chat with fleet members) in hi-sec. Some also offer ore buyback programs (while others only offer mining boosts).
You can join a null or wh corp’s mining division. Technically can do the same for hi-sec but you mentioned more dangerous spaces and the ores are better there than hi-sec and with rare exceptions you will have a response fleet on standby in case of trouble.
You might also get into wormhole ninja gas huffing, it can be both fun and very lucrative (probably both), though is basically a solo activity (which means you don’t have to play according to other people so can play whenever and however you want to and fits you).
