I hate to agree with you, but the trend of going P2W isn’t something we can really dispute anymore. I still can’t believe EvE actually SELLS SKILLPOINTS. What happened to this company/game?

We where shown things that are standard in the MMO space. Eve is catching up at a snails pace. I saw nothing at fanfest that says Eve is worth 20$ a month. Ill keep my 12$ subs up to OSRS, atleast they know how to listen to the majority of their community, and the game keeps me coming back.

They have announced a great deal of things that they plan to work on but have not at all started to work on or are only in such an early state that they could not even show some footage of. They repeatedly said that they don’t know how this or that system, feature, reward could or would look like; they have repeatedly said that this or that is in extremely early stage of development. They had nothing to show that they would release as soon as the date of the sub price hike goes live.
Even their next step to replace the CAs with the cinematic experience is only going to arrive in Fall and not right now.
Or the attributes, training and implants. Players have been hammering CCP for over a decade with this stupid request but CCP still has not done anything to show during the fanfest that was supposed to be the “biggest content announcement ever”. Or has the roundtable with the dev that talked about it during the Keynot delivered any more substantial details or release dates that are not Soon™?
All they have shown this fanfest was vague promises without any substance. People were expecting substance after CCP developers and CCP’s money partner hyped up this fanfest as the “biggest content release/overhaul/rework ever”. CCP did not deliver at all. If you are a guru following crypto bro like Hilmar and believe in what CCP said during Fanfest, they sure have delivered a lot. IF you are a reasonable person and know how CCP typically operates and follows up on their announcement, CCP has not delivered a single thing.

yeah-no I immediately skipped ahead three years in my mind to when they released a streamline version of the tool for on-boarding recruits at your active muster point. It’s just my way, I can’t help it.
True, but it is no “bedsheet deformation”, it is active and ongoing.
I won’t hear anything negative said against CCP Aurora.
I also like the idea of scripting fleet formation and engagement plans (in simulation) just to see how spectacularly they diverge in the field.
The point is they did announce big content. It is a hearty course of meat and potatoes with a sprig of parsley. We are going to have to actively work for the pudding.

Even at just 7 months into the game, I’m already in ’ I don’t want noobs to have it easier than I had ’ mode. Making things easier sort of negates the struggle that was one’s own rite of passage. It negates the fact that one survived and is still in the game despite it being hard.

But the issue is surely not to remove all the knobs and dials and hundreds of little complexities, but to explain them better.
The entire skilling system is outdated and long overdue for a rethink.
It got into that state because of additions and additions over the years.

- thats why games and eve have microtransaction, to add $ for the base cost. And thats why people will not pay a hefty price increase, because they have other issues to care about. Especially when is not an universal increase of monthly sub price all over the mmo market.

- In that case they should have not increased at all.

This general declaration is not aimed at anybody other than my own intention to be selectively deaf.
Eureka! A corps draft. Players who are looking for a corps can sign up for a draft and the corps can bid for them, or there could be random placement. All voluntary. If you’re drafted you’re in that corps for at least a month.
Rough idea, but getting hooked up with corps is important and this could be another tool.
