I mean sure, whatever, it’s not a big change but why not. I still dont see what it has to do with attributes. Either you generate x amount of sp per minute or you gain x amount per minute in a skill is practically identical in design.
They could get rid of the attributes an leave the system as it it wouldnt change much of anything. It’s not a big change its just a minor modification of what’s already there.
Is this passive pooling per character on an account? or just the account itself?
and do ALphas just keep acquriing nonstop also? if so why sub/plex a new acct, let it linger for awhile…
I’m taking educated guess right now, i assume you get passive sp on 1 character, more if you buy multi character training thingie. And alphas get up to 5.5M sp then stop, as it is right now.
Well, they think they’ve made the right choice and that they can deal with whatever the price increase brings. I really can’t tell and personally don’t care, since I have only 1 constantly active account and an alt which is activated when needed. 5-10$ more is nothing for me.
I’m not concerned about Eve prices - I’m concerned about food and gas (oil) prices.
NODDI is a big deal for Developers. Players ultimately benefit IF content dev is actually accelerated.
AIR achievement system is a big deal. It is substantive for some, sure. Globally, not so much.
Faction Warfare as a content delivery system is a big deal. <<< This was the single largest announcement and it is a very big deal. However CCP Aurora told us that while the first elements are expected this year, what she had on demo would be years in the making.
CCP also announce several items already delivered most of which were visual updates. For content we have a 'Structure Balance update next. Translation - Structure Nerf where Shield points are buffed but damage cap and one RF timer removed leaving only the Armor RF timer for ‘Quicker structure engagements’
Yes absolutely a lot very exiting development was announced. Some were shown as concepts, some as white box and some as gray box. Several UI concepts including moving some of the UI to the environment. The Heraldry system looks very appealing. The majority of what we saw were art developments intended to make New Eden more striking and immersive. Most of it is part of Road to the 20th meaning 1yr+ before we see any significant amount of it.
But do you really think in a larger community with different people (and varying wealth) everyone feel the same way? Especially multiboxers which might be looking at an extra 20$ a month, especially in a time of inflation and with the gas being twice the price of what it was a year ago
Possible but even then they could do that without changing the way the sp’s are gained, so it’s a completely different thing imo. Still nothing major just maybe a bit of quality of life that is always welcome
As much as I empathize with our personal inflation costs, it’s not nor should it be a consideration for CCP. Their focus should be on whether they produce an entertainment service worth $19.99/mo. now that they have priced EvE at the top of the MMO market.
The real question for each of us is whether or not EvE is worth $19.99/mo as is now with all of the content planned for later inclusion we just saw at FF.
Will upping the price 33.3% net an actual gain or will people reduce what they spend on EvE?
Multi-boxers may reduce the number of omega accounts paid
Single Omega account holders may drop in and out of Omega, play seasonally or sub when they see interesting content delivered.
Wrong, a product is worth what people are ready to pay for it. A developer might judge his game is worth 20$ a month but if nobody buys it it means ■■■■. Now of course there will still be plenty of people still playing eve for 20$ a month, but they are hurting the long term longevity of their game by doing that. New players will see the most expensive P2P game which also happen to be P2W, multiboxers are going to either leave or reduce the number of accounts they own. There is nothing such as innate value, unless what you sell has a fixed price to produce per unit, which is not really the case for a digital product, if a new player starts EvE it doesnt cost much for CCP.
Now of course CCP now target whales but do remember that whales need regular players to feel superior, if there’s no regular players then theres no whales also. I think EvE should be an almost F2P game (almost as to not have an infinite number of bots) and this way could keep its P2W aspect.
I said they shouldn’t consider inflation as it impacts their customers [you and me]. Sure they need to consider how it impacts them [rising employee, building maintenance and their own consumables costs].
Inflation is simply a BS reason to tell your clients about raising your prices. Most business can do that because they sell goods. When my ISP, streaming services, VPN, cable tv or phone service raises prices, I move to a lower priced competitor. Why should EvE be any different?
However if EvE is the very best MMO SciFi space game on the planet, then that’s why the price goes up, not inflation BS. Other games are in development that will in fact be better than EvE but they are still years away, just not very many. So, EvE needs to step up its game.
I’m sure they are thinking they are going to make the skill system “fair and balanced” for new players, but there’s still nothing they can do about the tens of thousands of players that already have 100 million plus skill points. New players will never catch up to them unless they break out their credit card, which is more than likely the idea…
