Well, it certainly wasn’t the truth. Ask yourself this–if it was that big, how could you miss it?
This is why hardly anyone trusts CCP right now; we need a leadership change at the highest levels.
Maybe they meant the largest one they’ve ever done, which wouldn’t include the ones done by the game’s original developers, who have all left by now?

Bit of a stretch but I’ll take it.
Time-based skilling system is going away.
■■■■… Adding skill grind on top of ISK grind.
Egomaniacal
Time-based skilling system is going away.
It’s like they’re competing for the worst ideas ever and things like this keep cropping up. What a stupid, dumb, terrible idea.

NFT’s don’t look so bad after all then?
You can have the grind, or you can have NFT’s pick one
To get an idea accepted, you simply show a worse one.
The economy is going to collapse anyway so… you will have something else to worry about (see my charts in other topics).
If this is the kind of bad-faith leadership we’re going to see from CCP moving forward they can save it. I care less and less lately.
You can have the grind, or you can have NFT’s pick one
Fallacy. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.
It doesn’t have to be one or the other.
Both! That’s the spirit!
Attributes are just horrible complexity, primary and secondary bonuses too. Will save you some ISK in the process for implants. Many just have them balanced and don’t bother with the remaps anyway.
Yes, I’m fine with that. Attributes caused some weird optimization strategies that don’t let you train what you actually want when you also want to be efficient, because you can only remap once per year.
CCP was aware of this and talked over a decade ago about wanting to remove them. And now, over 10 years later they go with the most basic option imaginable by just removing the skill queue.
Why didn’t they do this earlier if that’s the only thing they can come up with after a decade?
And why are they selling this as a big feature? It’s a lazy and extremely delayed fix if anything.
Perhaps they needed other things in place prior to being able to rework this stuff easier. Quasar for example. Or rather Quaser made it possible easier otherwise it may not have changed.
Still doesn’t justify selling it as a big feature
Big from their perspective from what they see and do, from our perspective, we don’t get to see it as big.
We eat susages, they make the sausages. If we saw how they made sausages, we wouldn’t eat sausages.
You don’t see many resteraunts at an abattoir.
- Energy (electricity) went up
- Infrastructure (servers, 3rd party services and software networking, …) went up
- Hardware (and anything made of silicon, really) went up considerably - if you can even find stock
- Cost of developers went up. I am a software developer and… oh boy… it’s a jungle out there. Ukraine was one of the largest IT outsourcers in Europe. Russia and Belarus as well. Ukraine got war, Russia and Belarus got sanctions. On top of that, Dubai (UAE) started a program last autumn for importing programmers - 100.000 UAE Golden Visas for software developers with 0% personal income and corporate tax. I’ve just checked… I have 46 job offers on LinkedIn with 30% to 100% pay increase compared to what I’m being paid now. There is a significant shortage of software developers.
- cost of big fanfest presentation
Still doesn’t justify it as a big feature because from the players perspective it isn’t.
Ministry of Truth says it is.
And so the only logical thing to do is to purge their player base by increasing price thus reducing long term profit, great plan.
Increasing price is the worst thing they could’ve done if they care about longevity of their game. Which they probably dont actually
purge their player base
So… reset everybodys character so they can experience the NPE and new skill training… Sounds good.
no i would not go that far…the minor issue i see with it is…you no longer will train a skill passivley…
you instead will get SP passively, wait till you have enough SP to put into a skill instead of waiting for it to skill up.
