You can’t beat multiple alts using 1 alt.
Did you read the whole thing I wrote? Pod alone won’t survive it. Pod + shuttle won’t survive it. Pod + frigate usually will (usually, denotes just that, usually, not always).

I managed to get my pod out of Pochven, tnx to the FC, with the right “escape filament” alive.
At least with an escape frig you can activate a random filament if you get the chance…
I see the thread has deranged a little bit from the original questions but anyway…
We didn’t have emergency escape bays in BS untill some few years back.
I Think I managed to use it once, I was relocked, popped, but my pod made it out…
HS or NULL makes no difference, except in HS your BS would 100% explode if ganked.
In Null if the gankers see the emergency ship or pod go away, could decide to “ghostride”
the BS and save the hull if they cared more about Isks than Zkill stats…
In both scenarios, it’s up to the pilot to decide to either put up a fight anyway if brave enough
to solo the full gank fleet… it can be a last resort to try save the day when everything else of value in question left is just YOU and your honour…

But they used to? I caught one guy and he asked how I uncloaked him. I had to assume the SB?

Nope. I launched one while just testing a fit. He reappeared after it went off. He was not near anything that I could tell. And since he was smart enough to cloak and make a break for it, I would think he would avoid anything that would uncloak him. He got paid triple his loss as well.
Anyone who will chat with me after losing a ship will get 2/3 times their loss.

No. He was professional about the whole thing.
Everything I searched for (exluding “helpful” AI responses) seems to indicate that you will take damage but not uncloak.
I can’t explain it either. Hopefully someone else might post about it.
It isn’t but they just needed something new. It looked good on paper, that it is in fact useless is not a problem.
That being said, I did found an usage for escape frigate. You can use combat probes that way, something that is nearly impossible to fit on a battleship. That allows to suspect bait without need to have second account to scan them or without being confined in single system where would you dock and reship to scan those ships and MTUs.
Doesn’t sound like a smartbomb, more like a normal bomb as launched from a bomb launcher on a stealth bomber.
I think they might decloak you.
