Just looking for a good fit that is cheaper than 100m ISK for ratting.
I created this fit, but its probably not that good compared to others:

alphas can use a VNI, but without heavy drones it isn’t really a big upgrade from a standard vexor. For alphas a standard vexor might even be better as it can fit 4 bonused guns, although I haven’t looked at fits since the PG nerf.
the standard vni ratting fit uses a 100mn afterburner as it gets you to a good speed, and doesn’t bloom your sig radius meaning you can speed tank most npc damage.
I’d also suggest dropping the exploration mods, a scanner frig will get the scanning bonuses and will be able to hack the sites. unless you plan on doing combat sites in which case probably fine to keep the probe launcher. maybe keep the relic analyzer in cargo to refit if you find a hacking site, otherwise keep your combat load out fit.
For the rest of your fit:
Make sure you use a 10mn AB and not a 1mn, 1mn is for frigs/destroyers, won’t help your crusier much. upgrade the DDAs to tech 2, or meta if you can’t use t2 yet. Look at the fitting tool and see if you can put on a large cap battery, or if cap rechargers are better/worse than the medium cap batteries. Drop the 800mm plate for either a resist mod, a cap mod, or a fitting mod depending on the other parts of the fit.
Currently alphas can use any racial faction ship up through cruiser. So for Gallente the VNI is available. Alphas can’t fly pirate faction ships at the moment, but after December they will have access to all of those.
Without heavy drones, stick to the Vexor or go for a Gnosis.
If the Alpha changes being discussed (which may open up heavy drones) go through… all of a sudden the VNI for Alpha’s may become a great option. But for now with the medium drone limit, the big advantage of the VNI (more drone bandwidth) is wasted.

shields to tank initial damage till you get to speed - orbit at 50 and u good. I used this in Null doing Havens
