You can’t alter the output of a star without altering the amount of energy received by the planets. You definitely can’t alter the output of a star enough to visibly darken it without drastically altering the amount and wavelengths of light received by its planets. That will inescapably have ecological impact. Any claims that ecological concerns were unfounded are further undercut by the Triglavian bio-adaptation of those worlds.
Claims of ‘oh, it’s probably cultural’ require supporting evidence—by necessity, evidence of Triglavian culture in widespread practice among the population. Note that simple cladistic proving programs are not sufficient, unless you really intend to claim that the Triglavians have no broader culture beyond one particular methodology. No shared idioms, no common frame of reference, no particular or semi-consistent dietary habits, shared observation of occasion, etc etc.
