My character is Intaki, a loyal member of the Syndicate AND a loyal member of the Caldari state! What they heck am I supposed to do with this new story line. Jeez I want new star gates to Syndicate, but not like this! Please FC fix this so I can continue hating the Federation and do the Caldari war events without feeling like a traitor ![]()
But you are a traitor!
to who?!
lots of stuff happening TO the Intaki people, but we can’t do anything about it. No Intaki or Syndicate faction warfare to join. We can either participate in our colonization, or do nothing ![]()
Assuming the story as told by FC so far continues to be played straight without any sneaky plot twists, the Intaki Syndicate (The loose high-ranking leadership, not like all of Syndicate’s residents) did betray the State in order to illegally siphon funds from Jita, before accidentally(?) blowing up all their incoming stargates and killing thousands.
Currently, the State seems intent on dismantling the guilty leadership, while aiming to integrate and/or co-operate with the local residents. The State is generally one of the best empires when it comes to these things, with client states enjoying protected status while being left largely to their own devices.
If you want a direction to take your character’s story, my suggestion would be to pivot to representing the Intaki people under the new circumstances, tossing the fleeing leadership under the bus and trying to get the best possible deal for the Syndicate residents.
Majority of the Intaki people are still part of the Gallente Federation. The Syndicate was born of 5000 exiled Intaki during the first Caldari-Gallente War and grew from there. The Syndicate later stabbing the Caldari with the Jita gates caused the current situation with the Syndicate. The Gallente are offering amnesty for your ancestors crimes, the Caldari are offering employment within the State (provided you weren’t part of the system that caused the Jita attack). The question is, are you loyal to the Intaki or Caldari. You can also choose to not ally with the Gallente Federation and also rebel against the State.
If I’m correct, in the latest showcase of the Caldari campaign the Syndicate dissolves in either losing the campaign (the LP store joins Gallente) or winning it (the LP store joins Caldari) which means the syndicate de facto ceases to exist.
I hope this will be a transitory thing and will be developed in the future for sure. In the meantime, well, you can join other players in this. You aren’t alone.
And a part from Caldari propaganda. Your choice to follow Silphy or foreign Megas.
You can always help the Gallente…
Join the ILF
Be a scarrorist to both Gallente and Caldari solo or with others. (Give me serpentis militia please!)
When the news first broke that the State had arrested Silphy en Diabel and had begun to take over Syndicate I was not a fan.
I’m still not a fan now, but after years of frustrating Intaki, or Intaki-adjacent storylines, I’m pretty much resigned to the idea that the Syndicate faction appears to be being removed from the game (yes they exist, but completely absorbed into either Federation or State, so not really).
A few years ago, there were suggestions in the news that the Intaki Space Police might be poised to take the security franchise in the Intaki system, but the Federation wasn’t keen and seemed to be doing what it could to stymie that outcome.
Had there been the possibility for players to actually help the recent Syndicate breakout fleets, that could have reopened that Intaki security question.
There was a very brief period of time when I actually had hope (silly me) that an Autonomist government in the Intaki Assembly, and a new President elected on an Autonomist ticket, might mean we see something interesting happen along the Placid/Syndicate border.
With Syndicate assets and people now in Placid, there could have actually been some kind of semi-autonomous area along the border, including systems or constellations on both sides.
Wishful thinking.
The ILF may be about to embark on a recruitment spree, hopefully capitalising on the current narrative, and making lemonade from the lemons before us, but we’re not going to start poaching pilots from our allies in I-BLU. We appreciate the mention though ![]()
What?! thats even worse than I thought what about the Syndicate Damage Control ![]()
I hope they do some kind of pivot and Silphy takes over the Caldari state in some sneaky way like she took over Syndicate. It seems like she is doing that to Jita at the very least. But I don’t see how that helps the Intaki and not just Silphy! I’m fine with throwing Silphy under the bus if she was messing with Jita.
I USE Jita Silphy!
Silphy won’t surely come back as CEP, that would be Hilarious. But she certainly will be back. She’s too interesting of a character not to have.
For the LP store, they will be in the respective Caldari/Gallente depending on the campaign outcome
The Angel Cartel and friggen Guristas pirates get to be their own faction, but not the Intaki. Come on FC! All of the Intaki lore gives it the trappings of a 5th empire just waiting for its moment.
I don’t want to pick Caldari or Gallente to colonize Syndicate
I want to fight for the Intaki Empire!
The Federation is not doing anything in Syndicate, and there is no such thing as an Intaki Empire.
Even the in-game faction is just representative of a loose, informal union of autonomous station-governments. A union that is now being dismantled, with those same stations getting incorporated into State territory.
It would be great for players to have the option to join FW for every Faction to fly their true colors. And each faction have some kind of alliance to the 4 empires or organize against pirates, (or evermore and SOE being neutral to all) In addition in the future seeing “Minor Campaigns” similar to the military campaigns for the major empires for all factions
Example:
Triglavian vs Edencom
Trig Campaign: Proving of Pochven
Eden Campaign: Pushout Trig Minor Victories
Amarr FW vs Minmatar
Ammatar Mandate FW vs Minmatar
Khanid Kingdom FW vs Minmatar
Mordu’s Legion FW vs All Pirates
Sansha FW vs All 4 Empires
Serpentis FW vs Gal/Min/Cal?
ETC
And seeing more breakaways, factions rising and alliance changes between these NPCs factions. Id love to see NPC corporations start fighting over stations control in high-null systems too.
I really, REALLY, want to see a full blown Intaki rebellion.
CLARIFICATION: The Intaki breakout was awful RP wise in game as an event. The forum RP wasn’t bad and fun to participate as. Having no means to “move the needle” and it being a decisive slaughter was bad.
My biggest complaint of the Intaki Breakout is that nothing could be done to prevent their loss or opposition to be shown. Any opposition was also ignored or not recognized.
The Intaki Captains also came off as fools?
Somehow the Caldari State wiped the floor with the Intaki Syndicate
However allegedly some Intaki ships slipped through
Theres still not an explanation as to why one IS Captain returned to Poitot to only come back around and die.
And the deadly precedent that this event sets that any empire can put out a hit and waves of capsuleers will fly out and do their bidding, including basically breaking any law of sovereignty. Unrelated, that makes me hope to see High-Low-Null NPC space become more fluid as the 4 empires and all the factions may start expanding and contracting dynamically whenever these military campaigns come around
However as of right now, all of syndicate flipping to Caldari and presumably the removal of the Intaki Syndicate as a faction is ass. Its poorly thoughtout and really makes things feel inconsequential. Especially nothing being presented with the military campaigns to “stop them” or “oppose it” other than delaying it allegedly.
Maybe we may see something of Silphy and a suprise twist. Maybe capsuleers could eventually pledge allegiance.
As of right now the military campaign system, if I remember from reading about the Evefest notes recently, is 1 of 3 major content patches CCP/FC is working on.
Pirate Military Campaigns may come later (dont quote me on it, just something some folks are asking for). I hope again, to see more than just the 4 empires be active. Hope to see other factions and other FW.
Please I beg every single person that keeps asking for a trillion different FW conflicts with every single faction represented to actually play FW once and realize what a ridiculous idea itd be to implement.
Back to the lore side of things however, you are ignoring a lot of different things about this whole story arc.
First of all, the State did not “wipe the floor” with Syndicate, there was not a fight. The Caldari Navy was the closest thing that the Syndicate had to a military, being a protectorate of the Caldari State. That same military simply turned around and started arresting criminals.
The Intaki breakout captains were neither stupid nor has some new radical precedent been set. The Fed didnt give them any permission to cyno in, they bribed their way to illegally cross over (and got flagged for it), and, judging by their dialogue during the event, were actually sabotaged by State intelligence assets, directing them in already compromised routes.
The in game faction being removed makes perfect sense. They were barely a “faction” before, representing only the loose union of the station governments. What the hell would the Intaki Syndicate even be without their stations?
For example before the drifter crisis, the siezing of 5 drifter wormholes.
We saw many factions vying for it:
SOCT
Edencom
Triglavian
4 Empires
Blood Angels
Evermore
Evermore being an odd one. They also did some fuckery with the winter event too with their automated hacking ships stealing sansha data/who knows what
I was in Poitot when the syndicate leadership was blown up. They are not dead, they were podded back to Poitot.
We (as players) are to presume the NPC (Dev Piloted) players as “dead”. We don’t know if they are capsuleers (clones) like us. As CCP/FC uses the same character creator as us to create NPCs.
They were probably capsuleers, not that it really matters. The breakout attempts were them trying to evacuate their assets, not themselves.
To clarify. What you saw isn’t wrong. But there is some suspension of disbelief to be had as CCP/FC is working off the same game mechanics and then some (Dev Tools and Mechanics) as we do.
