Asteroid belt

In high security, are the asteroid belts reset every day like before?

Yes. The belts respawn every day at 11:00 EVE server time, which I believe is 11:00 GMT or UTC.

There are NPC miners in the belts, but they don’t actually take away any content from the asteroids, it just looks like they are. CCP changed that a few years ago. So, if you come across some belts that are entirely wiped out, a player mined it out.

That belt will respawn in the exact same spot at server reset, however it will contain 10% less ore volume than it did the day before due to being completely mined out. Let it sit for a day without mining any of the ore, and it will regain its normal volume after the next reset.

Sounds similar to crop rotation. Does this mean miners are space farmers?

Pretty much. If you leave them sit for 3 server resets beyond their normal capacity, the belt will contain 30% more ore volume, but that’s the maximum it will gain. The “ceiling”, if you will. I haven’t found the “floor” yet. They do lose 10% volume every day if you mine it out, but I haven’t been able to completely wipe out a belt yet, to the point that it “respawns” the next day with no ore whatsoever. It always respawns with a decent-ish amount of ore.

I mined 2 full belts yesterday today they were completely empty without any stones

In high sec? Not possible. The only way that would happen is if someone beat you to the belt and mined it out right after the server reset. I’ve wiped out an entire system before and every single belt respawned the next day.

I have, however, heard of that happening in low sec.

i did see this happen just a few days ago, another miner said “its because some rocks were left over” … not sure this is a thing or not.
just wanted to confirm that not respawning is not uncommon
