Why do asteroids not have brackets in space?

Here’s a picture of a fresh asteroid belt:

  • My brackets filter is Show All Brackets
  • As you can tell by the overview on the right there are plenty of asteroids in the screen all around the asteroid belt icon
  • The only asteroid bracket we see is the one I selected

Why do the other asteroids not have brackets?
I did turn on Show All Brackets for a purpose.

They never had and it’s quite annoying. Even if you add them to your bracket settings, they do not show up. The game knows that something is there, though, as the Tactical Overlay draws lines from them to the plane.
