@discobot display help

I currently know how to do the following things:

@discobot start {name-of-tutorial}

Starts an interactive tutorial. {name-of-tutorial} can be one of: tutorial, advanced tutorial.

@discobot roll 2d6

:game_die: 3, 6

@discobot quote

:left_speech_bubble: Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you — Princess Diana

@discobot fortune

So I played around with the numbers, and it appears that the maximum dice you can have (the first number before the D) is 20 and the number of sides to the dice (the second number,) is 120.

Might be a useful thing if you’re looking for a way to generate a random series of numbers.

For those who are curious - the first link (Shameful) leads to The 10 Most Shameful RPG Dice | and the second link goes to https://www.wired.com/2016/05/mathematical-challenge-of-designing-the-worlds-most-complex-120-sided-dice.

I also did the advanced tutorial that you get by typing in

@discobot start advanced tutorial

And it was actually quite cool in places and worth doing. You get a (rather silly) certificate at the end …

… but as yet, no badge.

As an aside, if any of the devs see this, it’s be nice if we could have apostrophes in our user names. My Eve pilot name (in the game) is NOT Mu Ad Diib, it’s Mu’ad Diib.

For those who are interested the apostrophe is supposed to indicate a slight gutteral pause in the way that it is pronounced (as you get in Arabic), thus, phonetically, Moo-aud Deeb.

Hm, I thought he was disabled?

@discobot quote

Well I did this stuff last night @Archer_en_Tilavine so maybe not. I had an old conversation with Discobot in my inbox and that was how I initiated it.

Perhaps certain commands are restricted to DMs with him?
@discobot roll 21d20

Yea I missed out on doing the tutorial with the bot and I thought it was disabled as well.

I’ll do requests if people like … just a thousand ISK or a fully fitted Ark … whatever ius most convenient really …

sadly they removed it.

The tutorial seems to have been left in place - or maybe was fixed recently. Worked for me. :heart_eyes:

Not sure about the rest of the discobot.

(Well it could have just been a bug making the tutorial work for me, because some days feels like I’m a magnet for weird bugs in software, lol)

If you were thinking of doing the tutorials now might be a good time while they are working again.

i never did do it, i guess they reinstated the discobot

Well necro’ing this old thread …

After some searching, discover the badges have been moved to

https://forums.eveonline.com/badges

i.e. replace ‘meta’ with ‘forums’

There’s probably (?) a button in the menus somewhere to click on for them, but I haven’t been clever enough to find it.
