First time posting here, hope this is the right place.
I inquired and asked a question on Discord asking if all the pride stuff in the discord, if there was an option for the discord to remain neutral and not be political. In classic response, I was beamed and told LGBT is not political and it was turned into an argument of human rights. The bottom line was is that I asked if myself and others in game HAD to support this movement or would we get banned from playing the game.
I was told not actively supporting LGBT makes me a bigot by default. That remaining neutral was not allowed for me. Basically I did have a choice, but if it was the wrong choice I was going to be unable to be on the discord or play the game.
I was then with no explanation banned from the discord because not agreeing is apparently rage baiting. Is there an appeal process to the discord? I didn’t even get a message or notification, I literally just get deleted from the EVE discord. Are their checks and balances to this and an appeal process. Is there any accountability for who ever banned me?
We had an issue a little while back about someone doxxing players or being racist, whatever, and if I remember correctly there was little or nothing that CCP (at the time) could do about it.
Remaining neutral on this topic is easy. You just don’t talk about it.
Or you could wish the people who participate in it a happy month not because you support their idea but because you act decent to others just like people can also wish others happy Christmas when they’re not of that religion.
You did have a choice to remain neutral, but instead you actively spoke up. You spoke up against ‘all the pride stuff’ and spoke up that ‘you do not support their real life politics’.
By doing so you it appears to me you made it political and actively took a stance against this movement, no matter how neutral you wanted to appear while you took that stance.
Now I stay away from Discord if I can avoid it so I don’t know what’s going on there right now, but seeing the state of reddit I assume Discord has a lot of ‘discord’ on this particular topic this weekend too. And when yet another person adds fuel to the fire by actively bringing up that ‘they do not support this movement’ I totally understand how such actions can be considered controversial at least and might trigger bans.
ok, looks like I am not the only one who got banned by members of the lgbtq community. I got banned by lgbqt+ mods on reddit/eve because I said that a streamer can have a political free discord where he can delete all sorts of flags (including gay pride flag)
I can tell you why I support it only to 99%. I do not want to support athlete MEN who transition in their PRIME to a woman and than compete against other women in sports and crush them…
The struggle of the lgbtq+ movement is so complex and broad in issues that it is ok to say “NO” to some things AND NOT GET LABELED: a bigot.

Get warned several times over a month. (and it wasn’t just about your so called “real life politics”)

I feel a need to speak here as one of the people directly targeted by a lot of the abuse.
Our existence, our ability to live as who we are, that isn’t political. When it’s reduced to debate about what we can and can’t do, that’s when it’s made political, and not by fault of our own.
We’ve already had two people (one EVE Partner, another part of a project that was a Partner) go off the deep end and equate us with politics, “the current thing”, etc. The streamer partner has begun to explicitly favor one view on his streams while disfavoring one that would make people like me more welcome, which would conflict with the Partnership Agreement.
The person who was part of the project though… that one was far worse. He’s openly insulted people like me, made political calls for theocracy, used his religion to damn us to eternal flame, etc.
Imagine you have a new student at school. This particular student’s religion forbids the shaking of hands or even the viewing of shaking of hands. So now, in order to not offend this ONE student, EVERYONE in the school can no longer shake hands. That is the LGBTQ movement in a nutshell…
