Banned from EVE Discord because I didn’t support their real life politics

ok, this is taking a bad turn. The christian stuff seems now to bubble up.

You’re the one that made the assertion, not any of us.

are you blind? I didn’t mention Christianity or any religion at all at first. Someone mentioned his “christian nationalist politics” and someone else wants him to remove some easter posts. It looks like him being a christian seems to have some weight in the whole issue.

Stop playing dumb Hiroshi.

The issue here is quite simple, you broke the rules of the server, got warned about it and continued to do what they told you not to and then got banned. They aren’t required to keep you in the server if you can’t follow the very simple rules.

Asking Loru to be consistent is all people are asking for. No Politics also means no religion.

I think the whole issue will backfire for the LGBTQ+ eve reddit community when other people see the videos. I have seen them linked on reddit. And if you are a normal eve player, his behavior doesn’t come over like one of a bigot, but just a guy who wants to avoid any controversy and just deletes any icon spam that might be perceived political. He doesn’t go on a rant and damns people, he clearly states that everyone is welcome but please “no politics” and just focus on gaming. If that is enough to be canceled or forced to apologize, then we all as a society are doomed.

The issue here is that his server isn’t no politics and a rainbow flag isn’t political, and in doing so he violated the standards that he’s required to hold himself to as an eve partner in multiple ways.

Except for his own ‘Christian’ nationalist politics.

You thinking that it’s okay for someone getting banned for being/supporting LGBT is definitionally being discriminatory and bigoted. He also says no politics but literally has stuff for his politics. Most people who care about streamer stuff have already weighed in imo. All people are waiting on is FC’s response this week.

I don’t know where you live, but I was literally at a political demonstration to force/pressure the politicians/lawmakers to legalize the gay marriage back then and the ONLY FLAGS we had with us, were the RAINBOW FLAGS. To claim that the rainbow flag is not political is the dumbest thing you can do. This is such nonsense!

The rainbow flag is not political. It’s a banner to rally behind, and when we are treated unequitably, we have a right - and a responsibility - to challenge that lack of equity.

:rainbow_flag:

That’s the thing — gay flag is not political. It’s something someone who is gay might add just to make a part of himself more visible. It’s no different than posting a motorcycle icon, if you happen to enjoy riding motorcycles. (To add – I would much more prefer to use a more physically explicit icon instead of the rainbow flag myself, if I was one to use emojis, but if I went and used that in my online posting, I would get banned. So rainbow flag is a kind of a neutral symbol to use in place of something more explicit).

I don’t use emojis in my communication, but some people like them, and I guess there’s a reason they were added to online chats. And here you are, a bunch of icons that have no political affiliation:

:men_holding_hands:
:horse_racing:
:kiss_man_man: :couple_with_heart_woman_woman:
:dog: :pig:
:avocado:

:palm_tree:
:statue_of_liberty:
:rainbow_flag:

Don’t go raging out on the avocadoes now.

I don’t swing that way, but just knowing the throbbing hard on that ISD Drew is going to get moderating this thread is quite arousing…

yepp, we live in crazy times, where deleting a motorcycle icon can get you departnered and canceled and banned on eve reddit

Yes in fact, if that action breaks any of these expectations set for eve partners “Being part of the Partner Program comes with additional expectations, including maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, avoiding behavior that could be construed as bigoted, harassing, or exclusionary, and not promoting hateful or otherwise offensive material.”

It’s not that bad. You have missed much more ‘‘arousing’’ opportunities than this when you were away.

It is political. Being LGBT is not inherently political, but the organized LGBTQ movement clearly is. The moment an organization or group of people campaigns for legislation, lobbies governments and corporations, endorses candidates, promotes public-policy changes, or pressures institutions and game companies to adopt specific rules, it is participating in politics. Especially the fact that not only does it not end in censorship, it’s compels and pressures people to support it.

Look at the comment where. “What do you mean you don’t support it? Why is it an issue.” I could explain, but I also don’t really owe an explanation, the answer is simple, I don’t want to. Anywho, before I get excommunicated and harassed for not wanting rainbow flags or asking to keep it not political, does CCP have no influence on The EVE discord.

CCCP does not, FC does though

You weren’t banned because of your political views, you were banned because you were arguing with moderators and ignoring them telling you to stop talking about it.

So how do I contact them for an appeal, I didn’t see anything specific for the discord. I didn’t even get a reason for the ban so in good faith I actually couldn’t even tell you why. I can speculate, I’m probably right, but on the other hand I’m not surprised it was an instant ban. Anything that touches this topic just results in immediate censorship. Everyone that isn’t dancing to tune is an immediate threat.
