Bounties, kill rights, and locators:making a profession out of hunting

Why would you hunt any particular miner in a barge? High sec has thousands of those things, spread out all over the place.

When your goal in a war is to drive a sizeable surrender offer, you reinforce structures and hunt every member of an alliance that undocks. You have to drive home the point that they can no longer operate anywhere safely. It’s what takes a wardec from annoying/inconvenient to scary and destructive to an entire alliance.

And then there’s the occassional commission where someone has a grudge for whatever petty reason.

Then you don’t need missions or special code.

“No” is seldom interesting and often required.

No. Not really. Only killrights you gained or were sent to your character specifically shows. Killrights that were sent to corporation/alliance you are in are not shown neither public killrights.

I agree it would be interesting if you could browse all public killrights. Or at least see killrights provided to your corporation.

Yes obviously. Which is why every idea like this was torn to pieces on forum before.

But what if you could state the minimal kill value or ship that target must fly? Which is OP suggesting?

I think that if this was possible it could work. If you know the target is mining in Hulk or Orca you can specifiy kill this guy in Orca. Now, it is all about setting the reward in a way so this is not beneficial to the target himself. Yes he can probably still do it just to get rid of it, but he won’t make profit on it, unless the contract maker is stupid, and if he is stupid what is a problem?

If you could specify the ship or kill value (but that might be problematic due to the valculated kill value not matching actual value) it could give more incentives to suicide miners or *pve-er for example.

Obviously, I am not expecting that the kill contract will make the target a free kill for the hunter. Which is what everyone else was suggesting to happen but OP did not say this. As long as you have to wardec, activate killright, suspect bait, awox or suicide gank the target I see nothing wrong with this proposal.

It just needs to work as a new type of contract because if this replaces bounties ppls who spent their ISK to raise their own bounty to the skyes will be butthurt.

Why wouldn’t I just bounty the Hulk instead, take the bounty contract and then kill the Hulk free of criminal consequence?

No one said anything about “free of criminal consequences.”

Ive genuinly enjoyed reading all of this and would love to see a bounty system that would allow for balance and little gain for people that try to use loopholes. Honestly though do CCP actually listen to anyone in regards to this? Ive seen loads of old forum feeds and i’m starting to think that they havent actually ade any significant changes over the last 10 years?
