Ah oui… mais do hast Centre Pompidou mistaken…
if you’re talking of “Cul.ture”, that is where the heist has taken place
recently speaking XD
Ok I agree they should give Mauraders Buffs (I also think they should give Black ops and Recons like the Curse and Enforcer buffs so that anyone who equipes with with weapons instead of EWAR will just have an expensive version of the t1 ship instead of an inferior and less tanked version than the t1 so they can either be used as powerful EWAR platforms, or an inefficient damage dealer that has the same tank as the cheaper t1) but while I agree on removing the Pally nerfs, why are you complaining about ganking? It seems to be at a sustainable equilibrium with some people running successful missions and others… getting blapped. They got rid of the problem of alpha ganking months ago. It’s a solved issue.
I don’t wan’t to get lost in the ganking issue again.
I just would like to see the BUFFS back and that’s it.
Because it was a fight we made ESPECIALLY for the Marauder.
CCP gave it to ALL BS Class, then removed from ONLY the Marauders.
Now T1 BS are even stronger than before vs Marauders.
Across the spectrum there’s T2 ships that are barely less tanky than its T1 counterpart. If you have some problems in regard of some hulls, you should
take the fight up yourself… The Pilgrim is what you’re thinkin?
I just had another IDEA with the COMMANDO BS, some high mobility, high tank, and maybe some kind of mixed Bastion-commando module just for these kind of ships, or could be used by Marauders also? Idk…
Eve there’s NEVER a solved issue. Never.
Players will get around ANY issue and find a way to complain
about something not being OK, and without VOTE, CCP-CSM will find a way
to undo something good and then come with some excuses…
Sorry but I don’t buy the Alpha ganker - there’s still Omega gankers…
Look at Osmon, my system, look at the TOP 4 kills… all Marauders..
Today I used my Abaddon all day long, and once the Dominix…
It’s a factor of luck these days… I don’t think those kills were done by Alpha gankers…
These kills werent ganks at all. And if you had bothered to actually look at them you would know.
No amount of “buff” would have helped them, since they all died to sheer stupidity.
No, Ok, it was probably some corp WARdeck going on…
but the fact remain that a Vedmak and an Armageddon
killed a Vargur (with double Ancillary tanking)…
that alone tells me a lot about survivability of the “new” Marauders
(even with a PVP fit with almost zero buffer (2 cpu in the lows…)
He was probably also caught doing some sort of mission (47% torpedo guristas dmg) I have no idea why he had a warp scrambler fit…
Mabye a third anc shield at this point… but caps are going to run out…
Anyway I’m not able to asses what has been going on there really.
Have you ever studied statistics?
Yeah, a lot actually, but I tend to get lost when it’s EVE statistics…
Ok, so one of the finer points in statistics is that you can’t generalize the probability of an event based solely on a single example. For example, if a Marauder dies, that has no relevance to whether or not Marauders need to be buffed.
Lies, damned lies… and statistics.
Well, for the whole time the Marauder buff has been in place, no wandering statistics showed ANY Marauder being killed in OSMON for months to come.
But I agree Ace Lonewolf is a particular agent of chaos… je’s lost hundreds of ships all over the place… it is just curious that a VEDMAK and a T1 BS could take it down… or in the other case, another GOLEM and a T1 BS… Sounds like they brought the right ships for the job in both cases… wardeck gang…
In lieu of returning the shield/armor/hull, warp speed and MJD bonuses - they could give us +1 low slot to all Marauders. I’d still like the warp speed bonus back.
I think marauders need a nerf!
The surest way to see player numbers drop off a cliff on Tuesdays would be to implement this…
Hey, ganker here! I’m not freaking out.
With composed regards
-James Fuchs
Sleipnir needs another mid while we’re at it.
The Rock needs to become the next Command BS for Caldari. In Odyssesus style. Double Command burst slots, and either an insane t2 tank or a Bastion slot to have a second wave of Marauders with different stats. Or maybe just use one slot for an XXL Gun of Missile, and make them what the Oracle has been for bc… one tier up guns…probably the worst idea of the year, given their already crazy tracking limits… nit may come helpful in both PVE and PVP, imagining going against CAPS with more DPS than normal Marauders (Babaroga and 80B ships. excluded)
You’re so close to getting it. Right on the cusp of understanding.
That killmail is not the result of a wardec. Yak of Mors shoots a lot of MTUs and was most likely caught out in suspect.
There is also nothing particularly curious about a VEDMAK (extremely strong) and a T1 BS killing it, either, especially since he’s dual XLASB and there aren’t any cap charges on the killmail.
All that aside, wtf kind of skinflint puts T1 resist rigs on a marauder?
Maybe the solution is a tankier Marauder class that does less DPS and features command burst bonuses, aka: Flagships.
May I suggest a different approach to nerfing the ship hulls? Try nerfing the fleet commanders?
When I fit a hauler with inertial stabilizers or reinforced bulkheads, I get the fitting warning about diminishing returns. When a fleet commander decides 5 Golems, or 15 Catalysts, or zerg Vexors, there is no diminishing returns.
Smart fleet commanders mix the fleet with various hulls for optimal success. Like sending 46 titans plus supporting forces. Spam fleet commanders just pick a hull and figure add more accounts until they have success. Like attempting to destroy 46 titans with Vexor cruisers. Spam enough might work. Either that or crash the game server. According to the Clash at Atioth news, crashing the game server with Vexors still gives them the win.
How about reducing DPS and EHP for spam combat fleets (explicitly not mining/industry fleets). If someone forms a fleet with a pair of identical ships, no reduction applied; start nerfing the fleet stats when they add a third identical ship. A 25% reduction to DPS and EHP for 3 identical ships drops the 3-ship fleet down to 225% of a single ship. Ramping up the nerf for higher ship counts will seriously send a message to the “5-Marauders Wins” fleet commanders.
This fleet mechanic change will not work without ensuring players cannot exploit their way around it. Only limiting the nerf to specific ships, like Golems or Vexors, will just have players mixing the ships within the hull category, like Marauders only or Cruiser only. As fleets grow, this game mechanic must also grow into hull classes and sizes. Battleship or cruiser only fleets cannot be immune from this. Force players to add more complexity to larger fleets. Make them play smarter.
Who cannot adjust their fleets for this game mechanic? This player category:
Forcing different weapon systems, hull sizes, and other variations onto someone currently piloting 15 Catalysts will make automation more difficult. I have no sympathy for those players.
Another work-around to prevent is docked pilots counting towards the variation mechanic. The nerf must be limited to specific combat locations. For faction warfare complexes, only factor ships within the mission reward area. So, if it is a defense grid with 3 sub-complexes, all sub-complexs and players warping between those locations count towards the fleet stats. Warping the marauder fleet onto grid with some frigates will be treated as a whole fleet. Warping the frigates out to safety immediately removes them from the fleet calculation. Ships lost in hostile combat (cannot just kill your fleet frigates yourself) will have a nerf delay timer. The nerf change may be either progressive or implemented in full at expiration, however Fenris Creations decides.
TLDR: Please nerf bottling and spam fleets instead of everyone. Everyone except the offenders will appreciate the change. Lets support the majority of players on this issue.
Ban red safety (yellow only) from 0.6 to 0.9 systems. Problem solved.
