Broker Relations

This update will not address any botting issues. In fact these changes will make the market more volatile for average players who trade, especially new players who do little or no market research. Additionally this will make buying and selling items for players who DO NOT trade extremely tedious.

The only players who benefit from this update are bots and turbonerds.

Depends on how old your orders are. The update did say orders already listed would remain as is until they either expire.

You might want to fill up your wallet if you’re planning to relist/do price changes on some of your orders. The new rules would take effect at that point I reckon.

Yeah, so if I list trit for 7 isk. That’s only 1 significant figure right? How does that work with what they are saying they are changing it to?

Why not band together the inhabitants of highsec and fight back? Null can’t bring their capitals, so they can’t blob with titans and supers.

No, they’ll just bring thousands of feroxes or machariels and alpha everything. If you think you can band together all of hisec (miners and mission runners) for actual pvp, you’re smoking something quite powerful. It’ll never happen.

I do a lot of trading, and have no objection to any of these changes.

It’s a waste of CCP resources to keep track of idiots who are going up and down by .01 isk.

For Tritanium, it stays the same. Someone can place an order for 6.99 or 7.01 ISK, since that is 3 significant digits.

Oh well then. Looks like the market and the community have decided that it’s for the best to leave TTT standing as it is.

I had a considerable number of things to add, so I made it into a separate post:

This is how it used to be done in the past. This new skill is completely useless to many players who had use and reason to train old skill. Of course there is some overlap here but as CCP have shown themselves in attached stats, most orders are never relisted. This is slippery slope. I paid real money for those SP. What will prevent CCP to change say Advanced Weapons Management into some obscure specialist miner skill in the future. Or make expensive skill like Racial Titan do nothing of any practical use.

I love how morons undermine their own ā€œargumentā€ in the same comment. lmao

If you remove margin trade, you will remove liquidity from the market. Liquidity is very important. Have you ever heard about negative fees and why owners of the markets do this? Check bitmex fees. Maker, who install new order to order book and reduce spread, receives 0.025%! Taker, who removes orders from order book and increase spread, pays 0.075%. By removing margin trade you will increase spread for many rare items. Most of people (not station traders) will have problem to sell staff they don’t want for decent price.

Does it really? 4 significant digits means that now for trit you can undercut by 0.001 ISK from 6.999 to 6.998. Or have I missed something in the following sentences from the patch notes?

"Currently in EVE, all order prices can be specified to a 0.01 ISK precision, regardless of the magnitude. This will be changing and will use discrete ticks to a precision of four significant figures. "

And due to the way the change price is dependent on the price difference and price you can still update your 100B order for a fee of 100 ISK…

All you have to do is list a sell order, it’s not that hard to do.

If your price is fair, someone will buy it.

EVE Online does not support thousandths or ten thousandths place decimals. Hope that helps, friend.

I want to go up and down every 5 minutes by one billionth of an isk.

Now this is podracing 0.000000001 isking!!

Such idiots. Every time I log in, I dump a price on the market way higher or lower, and a couple nerds .01 isk me and then I adjust by another million or hundred thousand or whatever, and they finally give up.

If you know what an item is worth, 4 significant figures is sufficient.

If you don’t know what it’s worth, you probably shouldn’t be trading.

This game gets more and more r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d every time the people making it release a new dev blog.

Looks like the whingers have won again. The people who know how to use the market get screwed in favour of the snowflakes who can’t be bothered to learn, and who will STILL whinge about the new way.

Not gonna pretend I’m gonna quit over it. But … SMH CCP you are idiots.
