This thread is going places!
Or maybe just in circles…
Either way it is all quite entertaining!

You think that, I blow up all the FOB’s that are around me so I can operate in peace. Only cost me 3.9bn…, but made 675m in bounties so far and 420m in loot, so getting there as long as I don’t make an error. 2.6bn really as the first attempt was twin Nestors, I kept the second one as I wanted to be able to support people with a bit of something about them with logi.

Of course having some mechanism to get respite would be a good idea, like the said FOB’s, however it has to be something you really fight to earn not meta game it or min/max it.

Totally wonderful to see…

Yeah. I’d prefer it if it was PVP rather than EVP, but bots dying is good.

Wish CCP could find a way to get PVP back to this level of chaos. That would encourage a lot of players to login again.

To be honest it says it all when the Goons decide to ‘punish’ hisec and it is …, wait for it, a trade embargo…, well here is the problem. The most successful PvP entity in the game. Kinda sucks to be honest.

Apart from the Jita fans and themselves, who will it affect?

Apparently Tyrannos hates VNIs. Interesting.

This “enjoyment” is basically the same as when poor RL people are happy because someone rich died of cancer or had his expensive car damaged in accident. You can find a lot of such people around if you are paying attention.

Pretty low level “enjoyment” to be honest.

If you say so.

It is one of the finest joys in life to see a dead kulak.

Now that is ironically true in this case.

To be honest I have a certain attitude here myself, because the nullsec alliance that is most vocal about this for years affected my game play with counter less play called bumping with their hisec arm and told us get better and calls us stupid contempt filled names, such as pubbies. So in spite of the obvious issues in terms of this, a part of me is of course being unreasonable in taking joy out of it. Does that make me a bad person, or merely human?

You won’t get better by putting yourself as low as others. You can only go down and down this way.

It’s like crap throwing contest: everyone will end up dirty.

Do you really see this as appropriate for yourself?

Do you follow Confucian philosophy regarding the Better Man, then?

This is getting interesting and we still do not have any info from CCP who seem to enjoy this whole mistery stuff while stuff is dying left and right.
Yesterday we had a drifter invasion and new info was found:

  • the new Drifters can warp in to combat anomalies like heavens, they insta warp, insta lock, and you got 0% change to escape, a guy that lost 2 VNI’s reported that he didn’t have time to align out before he was popped - this seems like RNG killing, Russian roulette on who gets to live or die, if you are unfortunate, you die without any way to escape.
-they dropped on a normal combat fit supercarrier in a heaven and it seems that he would have died if Faxes would have not jumped in.
  • rorquals are completly target baits for the drifters as you are stuck in place with core on, there were multiple drops on that too, some died https://zkillboard.com/kill/77614019/
  • citadels are dying already https://zkillboard.com/kill/77614406/

I just want information from CCP side and cut this mistery crap already, as far as things go now it doesn’t sound like fun to be killed in random generated russian rullete pve npc spawns.
I mean, the goal here is for everyone in Null to stay docked for a few weeks till CCP decides what is the final form of this drifter invasion? Where is the fun in that?

P.S. as far as reports go, the only thing safe to do now is to get a combat fit full tank supercarrier and rat under the Umbrella, anything below that is gonna be popped instantly. This is a nice change to the game.

I don’t know, I can see points coming from ns dwellers and hs. Never lived in a wh, though i have lived in ns years ago. Took a vaca (10 year vaca), and looks like my buddies either sold their accounts or went inactive. More to the point, its a tough call, and if this is going to go on indefinitely its going to change alot around. Bots are a problem. I’ve seen it for myself and would like to see it done away with. Either way, I love the game alot as it stands now. I’m sticking around, no doubt about that.

Fair point, I try to be fair, but at times you can only handle so much bullshite.

This is a good post:

Great post because he defines the issue.

And I understand their issues, but we all know that nullsec went into excess a long time ago to the detriment of the game as a whole. I like the fact that space is dangerous, but I am not a fan of instant pop and super extraordinary NPC’s.

I did a test the other day and I mentioned the ECM issue in Caldari space with hisec miners and some were like suck it losers. But that is the same thing, my mining boat cannot lock that rat jamming me from 200km out. It is this type of hypocrisy that sets my teeth on edge a bit. I am not bothered by that example but it was fun to see the grrr hisec come out. I also pointed out that for many hisec miners the FOB’s are as bad as the drifters, because most of them cannot clear the FOB’s and are in the same situation as the nullsec alliances. Yes they could get better.

I think CCP has to be careful in setting up some sort of respite mechanism, but one that cannot be easily gamed.

It may be worth mentioning that Wandering World Bosses are extremely popular in other MMOs atm.

Considering that most of the current null players have no business being in EVE in the first place, that’s certainly not a bad thing.
