just got back to the game and my mate got hacked on all of his alts lost all the sp on his toons and ccp wont do ■■■■ about it this game is a ■■■■■■■ joke they could atleast give him his sp back cos the yers lost there is not somthing you just get back again

I completely understand wanting to stand up for your friend and being angry he got used, but the fact that he got hacked doesn’t make CCP or the game crap.
What was even the situation? How was he hacked exactly?

Former member of a nosy alliance that fetched his email address and a password to their internal server that he reused for his email or EVE?
The same character name as the account name?
Used some app or webservice where he put his EVE credentials in?
Or played at an internet cafe on an infected and monitored PC or the own PC is infected?

This sounds like the same song and dance “asking for a friend” because it may have happened to you but your hesitant to say that. The age of the character youre using is already a red flag.

Contact CCP correctly. Be respectable and polite about it. If this is legit then im sure theyll try their best to fix the issue.

@Fumblee I would be very much interested in what happened. A few things like account sharing or bot usage would also qualify for a ban before or after the hacking issue is solved…can your friend give some details what could be the cause if you refer to my list above?

You’ve been playing since 2010 on that character so you should understand how this stuff works. without any details it sounds more like your “friend” extracted all his alts before taking a vacation from eve and forgot about it.

Because you see. CCP has decent security around, even without 2FA they send you an email when you log in with a code to be inserted.
The only bypass is stealing the local client token… Try to figure how the dude lost his token.

A “token” is basically your ticket to get on any server. Its a permission.
As a general rule, passwords should always be at least 16 chars long, not contain any dictionary words but contain a random mix of letters ( upper and lower case ), numbers, and special characters. Do not use a dictionary word…as there are hacker tools that can scan the entire dictionary in seconds.

i still got all my stuff xD the thing is they can see who did it where all the stuff got send to and they even said they would give him his sp back and still nothing been over 3 month now and still nothing so yeah ppl need to know what a joke the gm’s are in this game
he even told them to block his acc and it tok them 48 hr’s to do it
There are two arguments here. A truly random password of a given length has more entropy, true, but remembering a long such password is very difficult, let alone remembering multiple (you should never reuse a password). Passwords that are just phrases are much easier to remember, and can be much longer. You would still mix in special characters and numbers, ofc.
Thus an argument can be made that dictionary passwords are ultimately more secure, as they can be much longer and it is significantly less likely that a user will reuse them elsewhere.
So that I can know if I am fully understanding the situation.
This happened more than 3 months ago, after requesting the SP be refunded, your “friend” also asked for their account to be closed. Now you’re here, mad on behalf of your “friend” because 3 months ago a refund was asked for and was confirmed to be coming, but the account(s) were closed due to the players request?
So how are you or your friend expecting the sp to be refunded if the accounts got closed as requested?
