Chill. There’s a ‘freight cyno’ on Sisi now. The module’s not in, only the BPC, but the smart money’s on it being a disposable cyno module for jump freighters and memorials.
Cyno alts already have Cyno V for fuel.consumption.
Damn then I’ve really been doing it wrong for years.
I could never justify the extra 20 days training an alt from cyno 4 to 5 to save 50 units of LO.
Now it will be 43 days to cyno 5 and to use a stealth bomber, I am less inclined to do so.,.
CCP pushing for players to use less alts - Fine with me, 7 less accounts to pay for each month.,.
I don’t disagree with the changes - make sense; but do it properly and don’t force people to spend money/time (a.k.a revenue) - just for a month.
Due to the changes and timeline I had to buy multiple Multiple Pilot Training Certificates as other than covert ops cyno nothing else realistically will work for JF networks. I hope that the forthcoming 2nd step (JF cyno) will not make this investment an utter waste of money.
Liquid ozone is cheap… cheaper than training time. Cyno level in general practice was to reduce consumption to 300 (so fuel can fit into a corvette)
You speculated, you lost… Thats not going to be CCP fault.
No, I used a piece of information that CCP published specifically to help preparing for the change. And they published it half-cooked.
I am not whining, simply highlighting this.
Which dev blog were these changes posted? What Published information?
. . .
I mean, it’s only literally the first thing in the thread you’re posting to. Kinda… the entire point of the thread. And then there’s Rise’s interview on TiS—which came at CCP’s request—linked up-thread.
suggestion
Could the cover ops cloaky module use fuel to work?
I do not think it’s necessary
be cloaky all day
Being just a little sarcastic;
Who comes into a thread with 2,000 posts and reads the first one.
It is far easier to just pick others posts apart than it is to actually research what you’re commenting on.
I did… And theres no information from CCP that what is in the OP is going to happen 100% like it states in the op. So yes if there are changes and people did end up injecting for no gain then thats all on them for speculating.
Right, because ‘this is what we’re planning’ doesn’t mean ‘this is what we’re planning’?
There’s also no information from CCP that they’re not going to do this. The addition of Freight Cynos—which may be on Sisi, but there’s things that have been on Sisi for years without getting into the game, like the intelligence structures—doesn’t actually mean anything definite. So this is still the most definitive thing… and it is, in fact, what they’ve published. On their own forum. And what they chose to go and do an interview about.
It is slated for release in September - You mean to say, CCP plans on giving hundreds if not thousands of players even less notice by not doing what they have clearly said they are doing?
It is the 26th of August - September is just around the corner. When do you think CCP might tell us what their plans for Cyno changes are if what they have already said is not true?
Sorry but that would rest solely on CCP’s shoulders for not giving out accurate information in their official forum.
If they had said - In a few months we “might” be doing these changes to cyno’s, then yes it could fall on players for “speculating”. There is no “might do” attached to what they have said they are doing.,.
But they haven’t said there will be no further changes in the future.
If they do what they said and then make a further change, that is on pkayers for speculating.
Of course those players also get the benefits in the mean time.
There has been a long list of proposed changes that ccp have then removed or changed before it hits TQ, this seems like another one.
I hope the folks in NulSec have fun with this.
I for one, am going to log on for a few minutes at a time in HiSec and mostly wait for CCP to decide what Eve is going to be. If by spring it is still unsettled, I will unsubscribe and find a new MMO,
Will be sorry to do so after several years, but Eve has driven off all my corp mates and friends. Since I subscribe by the year, I have months to see what happens.
There have been many different ways suggested by the community on how to
change cynos so there would be counterplay, like your mentioned spoolup times.
Imo a good idea would be to have the jumpdrive of ships have a spoolup time which gets longer the bigger the ship itself is and also the smaller the ship which lights the cyno is. Would make titans jumping/bridging to titans still relatively fast, but if they’d want to jump to smaller ships, it would take a few minutes before the jumpdrive is ready.
Anyways, I can understand them limiting what ships can use cynos, but of all ships, why does it have to be cloakies again. ■■■■ cloakies, they already have their covert cynos. If you want to jump in Capital ships, make it be on ships that can’t use a covert ops cloak.
Thanks for your efforts Rise, like always.
I am not particularly against these changes, but wouldn’t it make more sense to add spoolup-Time to cynos, instead of making cynos kinda exclusively useable by certain ships/pilots?
Regards
There have been. That doesn’t change the fact that there is still no indication this is not going to happen. There is only an addition to this that hasn’t even been announced by CCP, and is only known about because of hoboleaks.
Then you, for one, will continue to count toward the ‘active ISK’ measurement.
