Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

Curious, I belong to a smallish group, who has Supers - How many do you consider “large numbers”?

Have you not ever seen Goons, Test, PH, NC. go into battle?

I remember one fight clearly a few years back where our Supers had 8 fleets surrounding them and there were more one jump out waiting to replace losses.
Goons and Co recently travelled half way across New Eden with Supers in tow for an eviction - Those they evicted moved their assets half way across New Eden in the opposite direction.
You won’t stop people using Supers, even if it is only as a threat, unless you remove the ability to move them - Period.

Yes, that’s what i’m talking about. All these talks “bots and crabs will leave real players will settle down” is bullcrap. Easy hunting - is the only reason for Blackout support.

So CCP need to introduce a mandatory suicide option for Supers and Titans. Something of enormous value, where acquiring or defending requires to feed Supers and Titans in masses.

Only problem with that would be that the largest groups will always win, which is fine if CCP’s plan is for 3 or 4 major groups controlling Sov Nul.

The largest Super groups could feed hundreds of Supers in a fight and still have enough in reserve to do it day after day for weeks. Or they just put out a reasonable bait fleet of Supers then bring all their might to bear in one go and it’s all over.

Smaller groups with limited Supers would literally be wiped off the map.,.

The issue of Supers needs to be dealt with at a development level, they need to be less of a “we win” or “I dare you to try” and more of a support ship.
Arrendis outlined a good idea for how it could be done somewhere above.,.

Unfortunately, I dont think the dev team really understands the problem. In my opinion, supers should be what they originally were, beefed up almost completely unwieldy versions of capitals. Super Carriers used to literally be a carrier with additional fighters. Titans should be support. Regular caps arguably have it the worst currently.

Even if small alliances banded together when needed and fielded massive capital fleets, a midsize super fleet can just mop the floor with them daily. As it currently stands, the only reason smaller groups exist is because bigger groups just don’t have a need to expand. This prevents new power blocks from forming unless its different reformations of old blocks.

I do also want to add, once an alliance has a nice sized umbrella due to the instant respawn nature of anoms, you can use them to krab for 400-600mil an hour, which makes losing supers less hurtful in a endless loop of sadness and pain. This change is to discourage the use as that, but all that’s going to happen is these pilots will have a cloaked alt in system with a cyno instead of fitting it on the ship. They are looking at metrics on what players do instead of what they CAN do. The mechanics are the issue, not play styles.

It’s more like 200-300. That 600mil figure comes from Quant extrapolating off of one tick someone got, basically from a perfect storm of when things died and what spawned. It was literally the highest server tick anyone’s seen from supercapital ratting, ever, but he presented it like the average, and was quickly called out and made to look like an idiot for doing it.

What are you guy’s smoking? So many drastic changes all at once, what happened to slowly introducing changes? Great to see we’re around 13,000 people logging in compared to 33,000+ this time last year…(slow clap)

@CCP_Rise : Good changes here, but it should be modified to let the Normal Capital to move around (FAX, Carrier, Dread) to use Recon for Super capital why not, but normal capital should be able to jump on “Cheaper” ship

Industrial Cyno for indus ship (JF and Rorq)
Covert Cyno as usual
Cyno I for Normal Capital
Cyno II for Super Capital and Titan

This way we are keeping the normal Cap flowing specially for smaller entity without the iskies power to move their few CAP with Recon Chain…

So, it seems Cyno changes haven’t made it to Eve Updates.

I understand that doesn’t mean they aren’t happening but it would be nice (and professional) if CCP at least let us know if the changes are going ahead as proposed based on Cyno Vigils?

Is the plan really to add further time and cost to logistics for small/er groups in Sov Nul?

Do you really only want Large Bloc groups in Sov Nul?

Unless the csm somehow woke everyone up, I would say it’s still going through and it’s the extent of the rebalance.

Rorqual should also be able to jump to an industrial cyno. Seems fair and makes sense.

Changes are all on Sisi, also always good to check https://www.hoboleaks.space/

I’ve seen SISI, and hoboleaks - Neither of which is an official announcement from CCP.

There are things on SISI (and hoboleaks) that have been there for years yet aren’t in the game.

But yes I get what you are saying.,.

Are you reading this change as an industrial cyno that industrial ships can jump to

… or a cyno named industrial because it can only be fitted to an industrial ?

I am reading it as an industrial cyno, if a jf can jump to it, it would make sense for a rorq to also. Just a thought

Oh I most certainly probably am.

go in empire …

The mining bots are working very well

Added Industrial Cynosural Field Generator.

  • Can be fit by Industrials, Deep Space Transports and Blockade Runners.
  • Industrial Cynosural Fields can be jumped to by Jump Freighters and Black Ops Battleships.
  • Requires Cynosural Field Theory I to activate.

Emphasis added. Foolishness in original.
